I can't think straight right now, but I'm contracting about every 7 minutes,so I hope its not prodomal labor. But when the heck am I supposed to make the strong RRL tea and chug it?

I think now and I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be hot.

I think you can make it as soon as you think you're in active labor. But if it turns out things fizzle, stay away from the rrl for a few days so you don't get an irritable uterus from it. Good luck!

I found this in the RRL tea tribe.

Good luck! Can't wait to hear that you're holding your baby!

I didn't know you were supposed to do this... I feel so clueless, and someone is trusting me to be a mom?!?!? Oy..

Sigh, its petered out. Fliping poop. I feel like dork, but I've only experienced one labor that hasn't had pitocin induction, I really thought things were going though. Thanks for the well wishes. Maybe it will pick back up again.

Urm, I've been drinking hot double brewed RRL tea for a few weeks now and nothing!
I figured I'd just start prepping...
I didn't know you were supposed to wait until labor started.
Aren't there moms who've been drinking it their whole pregnancy?
I heard you're not supposed to start until about 37 weeks because of the risk of delivery, but like I said, nothing happening here!

RRL = red raspberry leaf, right? If so, I've been drinking it since the start of my 2nd trimester, on the advice of my midwife (and a lot of other sources). 2 cups a day in the 2nd tri, and now 3 cups a day. no labor. In fact, I haven't even had that many BH contractions!

As for the stopping, I had this happen to me like a 1/2 a week ago, IT SUCKS!

RRL tea isn't meant to induce labor. I think of it as a way for your uterus to "lift weights" up until the big day, so that you can be more "bulked up" to handle the heavy lifting, so to speak. Drinking it at the start of labor is just meant to help make those contractions more effective. Or, at least, that's the way I look at it.

I'm not trying to induce, just help things along if it actually was labor. NOohing works for me for induction, I've tried everything. LOL. It just goes to show baby won't come until he's ready. Or until they evict him on Monday, eep! I hope I go before then.

So I have begun drinking 2-3 cups a day for many weeks, and then when labor is getting strong you drink

' one ounce of raspberry leaves pour one pint of boiling water, cover and let steep for 30 minutes. Strain, and when the time for delivery is approaching drink the whole as hot as possible.'

So its both...just wanted to clarify for those confused.
