Yes I know its early. too early.I woke up about a half hour ago with CONTRACTIONS. They have been coming about every 10 min or so. Not major, they feel like period cramps. But they were enough to get me out of bed and want to do last min things around the house just in case. Ill keep you posted and wish me luck!!!

UPDATE: contractions are steady... they are definitely getting stronger but still about 10 min apart. Its not so bad as I thought. Last time I went into back labor and was preparing for the worst this time around. Ive had worse IBS cramps than this.... although I know Im speaking kinda early so maybe I just jinxed myself ....LOL!. I also have had lose bowels (sorry tmi) and then the urge to go but cant....., i hope this is the real deal... I would be so disappointed if this was false labor... I dont see what so false about it, it hurts and thats real enough for me.... anyone know how to tell if it is false?

thanks mamas! Im getting really nauseous now... blehh.. I guess it comes with the territory... as for the contractions, I think maybe I spoke too soon... now they hit in the front and wrap around the back... reminiscent of my back labor. as of last friday my dr told me baby was face up so it very well may be back labor.... if it is thats ok, I knew how to deal with it last time. YAY IM excited!! COME ON BABY!

ok so now they are actually about 5 min apart but they only last for about 45 seconds... I have to wait till they are about 4 min apart lasting 60 sec and have that for an hour before I go right? what if they dont last 60 seconds? can i still go to the hospital if they are 45 seconds???
I don't think it's has to be exact. My midwife said to call her when they get between 4-5 minutes apart.

First...

YAYA! Goooo baby!

Second..

Most providers follow a 4-1-1- or a 5-1-1- rule. First number is the number of contractions you feel, lasting a minute for over an hour.

However*** , if these keep up for over an hour/get closer together regardless of not being a perfect sixty seconds.. I would call your care provider. Call him/her first before heading into the hospital.. but chances are, that they will probably want you to go to L&D.

Good luck!

thanks mamas... now they are not exactly 5 min.... its like 5 min for like 6 contractions then 7 for the next then 6 then 5...... its mostly 5, id say only 1 or 2 contractions takes a longer than 5 min in an hour... is an hour of that ok still??? or does it have to be exact.... im thinking thats still pretty close. my hospital is about 45 min away so I want to make sure I give enough time plus my doula has to get here.

I would go ahead and call your doula and let her know and then call your care provider. It sounds like a nice pattern is starting, but you definitely don't want to go too early. If you are still somewhat comfy, I wouldn't hurry.

Good luck!!! Easy labor vibes! ::

I hope this is it for you! If you think your baby is posterior (facing your front) then you can try getting on hands and knees to see if the baby will turn. This can also help relieve some of the back pain. Good luck!
