Buying new off of ebay- question about warranty.

I am clueless as to where this post belongs but here goes.

I'm wanting to buy a new blender, one that is only available online. Thing is, I dont have a credit card (for a couple of reasons, one of which is, i dont trust myself with one ) so I cant order it off of their website without having to borrow someones credit card info which id like to avoid. One option is to transfer the funds to my paypal and order it new off of ebay. Thing is, one of the nice things about this particular blender is the huge warranty... five years on some parts, lifetime on other parts.... if i buy off ebay, would i still have the warranty?

i think you can get a "credit card" though paypal. i'm not talking about getting the one that they advertise when you log in before you get to your account. i think its more like a debit card that can be used as credit, and the money comes from your paypal balance. not sure if paypal still has this option or not (i havent used paypal much lately), but it might be worth looking into to avoid ebay.

there's a bunch of websites now that give you the option to pay via credit card or paypal, so you might be able to do it that way.

you could also get one of those "green dot" prepaid credit cards for online purchases. there's a $10 activation fee. however, rite aid has the activation free after rebate this week. (its really easy to do the rebate- just make a rebate account on riteaid.com and enter your receipt. the system will know what you bought and credit you for the rebate amount.)

as for warranties on ebay, it might depend on the manufacturer. you might need the original store receipt (like from the date of purchase). or maybe it depends on the manufacturer date.

No clue on the warranty question. But, do they have the blender on Amazon? You can do a direct bank account transfer on there.

You usually do not retain the warranty when you buy on eBay. They typically are not considered "authorized" sellers. Sometimes they offer some sort of warranty, but it is their own personal warranty.
