I'm on strike

I did too much yesterday, (not to mention being upright and online too much), I had major foot and ankle swelling and painful spasms/contractions in my lower belly, so I'm officially on strike today. My feet are up, the dvd player is full of dvds to watch, I have a nice book next to me, and I made dh leave his laptop home. Now to convince him to either make or bring home dinner...

I hate when I over do it and then pay for it the next day.

I hope you have a nice and relaxing day. I hope your dh deals with dinner for you.

Sounds like a wonderful day! Sorry you're doing it to recover and not as preventative medicine.

Reading anything good?

Let me pull up an easy chair next you and join in. I'll bring iced raspberry leaf tea and homemade cookies, sound good?
Now, let's stay on strike till this is all over.

I really really want to go on strike but I'm afraid of what my kids will do to the house I've got it fairly nice and clean which for me is essential to 'feeling ready' for a homebirth... so I'm afraid if I sit down and rest they'll tear the whole thing apart. Its amazing what one cute little 2yo boy can do when you turn your back! I am going over to a friend's house today though and she has a big playroom that the kids can attack, which means hopefully my house will stay clean today. I just want to hurry up and have this baby so I don't have keep the house in ready to go mode!

It seems like almost anything I do lately is "too much". Well, cooking for 5 hours straight doesn't help. But then all I did yesterday was a little laundry and I made a birth ball cover and the usual watching-of-dd. By the end of the day I was telling dh I needed to just rest, and I really did.

Ugh. So today the only thing I'm letting myself do is put the laundry away and sort paperwork so it can get shredded. And maybe make dinner. We'll see about that one. I wanted to make chicken salad and if I don't do it, no one else will.

But strike sounds good. I'd like to take it to a hotel so no one can call me or see me lounging around in my underwear all day. Ahhhh.

Chicken salad sounds good... I realize that is not the point of this thread...
