My surprise pregnancy ended with a wonderful homebirth on April Fools Day!
Alexander Boden was born April 1st at 3:27pm. My midwife had used the words "definitely a 9 pound baby" when estimating just several days before the birth, but he shocked us all by weighing in at 10 pounds, 10 ounces!! He was 21 inches long, and had a 15.25 inch head circumference.
Total labor was about 8 hours long, but I was still walking, talking and feeling fairly chatty when my midwife's assistant arrived and checked me, and found me to be 7cm dilated already! The intense part of labor was very short. I only tore a tiny bit, no stitches needed.
I will update later with pics and the full birth story in another day or two. I'm under strict orders to lay down as much as possible. I don't want to break the rules too much.
Alex and I are doing great so far! Good luck to the rest of the overdue mamas, I hope your babies join you soon!
