We did it!
No, NO,
NO pitocin!! just the breaking of waters. Labor progressed very well on its own after that. The hospital nurses looked at me like I was nuts, doula, DH and I doing laps around the maternity ward to get the cintractions going in a nice strong pattern.

I did have an epidural after 9 hours of labor. It was completely my choice. I had an odd labor pattern of back to back contractions where I didn't came down off if ine before launching into the next. They were just too hard on baby and I and he was decelling significantly during those loooooooong contraction stretches. After the epidural, he showed significant signs of improvement - probably because I was a lot calmer.
I managed to birth him vaginally in about 5 total pushes even with the epidural. One small tear, nothing major.
He was 10 lbs. even and 21 1/2 inches long !!
