Fabric for waxing strips?

I have a ton of wax but ran out of strips. If I were to go to the fabric store to get strips, which I'm sure would be way cheaper then re-ordering online, what kind of fabric would I get?

cotton muslin works great. and its really cheap.

cotton muslin is good - anything with a tight weave and no stretch should work OK... maybe just check out those quilting remnant piles?

Wait, wait! I have one more to add! Go through your linen closet. I cut up an old, ratty pillow case that had gotten stained by a pen in the wash. Cut it up into strips, worked great.
