Graduation, Traveling, Family

Both my sister and brother are graduating this year - at different times. My sister just called and asked if I was going to her graduation (I missed her high school - it was on a Friday, I had class (college) and no car.) I said no - and she got hurt saying that she had gone to both of mine. She was 14 and 17 at my graduations - living with mom and dad and it wasn't that big of a deal. I didn't make a big deal of my graduations (I walked for college because my mom made me. I was 21 and scared of my mom. No parties, or any of that stuff - not my style).

But apparently it is my sisters. I love her to pieces - but I don't know how two people could be more different! Help me out here - it's really not in the budget - I'd have to get a hotel or something - no one in my family has room to house me - my brother is sleeping on my mom's couch. ON TOP of flying in. I now live in a different state. And if I go to my sisters, I'll have to fly in for my brothers. I didn't even think about it.

I have no idea what to do.

Ideas?

Call your brother and see if he will be upset if you miss his graduation, If he is, then definately don't go to either. If he says it's okay, let him know that your sister is upset that you weren't planning on attending hers so you are going to scrape together the money for the trip and hotel. Can you sleep on the floor or something for one night? Bring an air matress or just a sleeping bag. Let your parents know that the only way you can come is if you can spend the night there.

If you end up not going, make sure you call each of them on their graduation days to let them know you are thinking of them and wish you could be there to help them celebrate...
