in Tom's of Maine toothpastes? oh SLS=sodium laurel sulphate.... or do you think the amount would be pretty negligible since on the silly strawberry its the last ingredient and on my spearmint its 4th to last just above the EO's for the flavor and the sodium bicarbonate which I know there would not be very much of that as it is dangerous in large amounts..... so whadda you other mamas think?

I go back and forth on that all the time. I've read that by itself it's not all bad, but with other ingrediants (not sure which ones) it can be a carcinogen. I also read that that is a rumor that got started and it's spread like wildfire. My kids are using the Weleda's tooth gel right now, although we have one and a half tubes of Tom's Silly Strawberry. I'm not sure what to do either!

yeah i saw that but I have the silly strawberry and spearmint right now and am loath to throw out some pretty expensive tubes of toothpaste..... oh finally i found this http://www.tomsofmaine.com/toms/ifs/sls.asp after so much looking this morning and turning up nothing ..... so I guess its ok i do get canker sores sometimes but only like once or twice a year and I'll just have to rinse dd's mouth throughly........
