If you are "fudging" your work and income info to any of them (especially SS)... this database may bite you in the @ss later!

I would hope so....to lie about income for the purposes of financial gain is criminal fraud!

Are you implying that you think it's okay to "fudge" numbers in order to get benefits to which you aren't eligible? Please tell me that isn't what you're saying

I'm saying that some people, who have been DIRT poor, know that sometimes the "eligibility" requirements can screw over people who actually are in desperate need of social services... and I'm saying that some people who have been so poor they cannot afford even a bag of beans or rice will resort to, at times, desperate measures, even when they know what the possible consequences are.

I'm not saying it's "okay" as in "legal" or "ethically acceptable under all circumstances" ~ only that people who have been poor would likely not have that gut reaction that, of COURSE it's not ok because it's illegal. Well I'll tell you something ~ stealing toilet paper isn't legal either, and a lot of those of us who have been dirt poor have done it.

I just wanted to give a head's up as I just learned about this database not too long ago.

And I will not judge anyone... I have seen what desperate times can make people do!

It is scary that this database has been out there for a decade and people are NOT told about it! :

THANK YOU Thystle for the heads-up ... I had suspected though already that something like this was in place. When my ds was 2 we got kicked off Medicaid because someone in LA was using his SSN : ... so I figured there was collusion among all social services authorities!!

This appears to handle only W2-wage employees, though. if someone is going to fudge, it's not going to be with a W2 lol.

Well yes as I doubt any 1099 people would report themselves as they don't make it known that this database exists... plus who would willingly do it?

I am more annoyed that there is ANOTHER database with our SS #'s and personal info and people are NOT made aware of it!
