BP keeps going up...

So my blood pressure was higher last week than it has been, and even higher today... I've had some swelling, but no protein in my urine, and no headaches, but if it's up any more at my appointment on Tuesday, they're going to start talking induction

Guess it's time to get moving on those natural induction techniques. Dh just came home for a nooner and has forbid me from doing anything else for the rest of the day. I'm not even allowed to do dishes or laundry and my favorite pair of pj pants isn't clean! Off to go "relax."

I hope your blood pressure calms down so you don't have to deal with the induction talk... make hubby wash your PJ pants when he comes home!

Can you try getting in a pool somewhere? Or a deep bath with epsom salts? Make sure your food is salted well enough. My blood pressure went up like that right before/as I was going into labor, like a day or two out. Good luck!

The same thing has been happening to me. BP was totally fine for the past 8 1/2 months, but now it's going up. My midwife first recommended some additions to my diet, like black cherry extract, cucumbers, and lemon juice. Now she has me on a pregnancy liver cleanse tea. She has mentioned inducing, but not seriously, yet. Splath, are you delivering at a hospital? I think they are quicker to induce than a birth center midwife. You are so close to your date, though, which is good. I'm not due until 4/28. Also, I've been told on stong terms by midwife, husband, and chiropractor that I need to take it easy and put my feet up. It's hard to do that when you feel just fine! Good luck.

Yep, I'm with midwives but will be delivering at the hospital. There isn't a birth center within hours of here, so that wasn't an option. My midwife said there were some things we could try before pitocin and they are open to letting me go up to 2 weeks overdue provided my bp (or something else) doesn't become an issue, but it seems that it might I'm going to relax this weekend and am trying the lemon juice/cream of tarter thing to hopefully will be able to stop it from getting too high. Plus I'm cutting out the junk food and upping my protein.

And thanks for the thoughts from everyone that this could just mean labor is on its way
