Babe going quiet the day before birth?

So with each of your babes, do you remember if they went really quiet the day before they were born? I can't remember with my older children if their activity decreased right before birth. But I'll tell you, this babe has been SO mellow today. Still moving regularly, but small movements, and nothing like the crazy kicker s/he has been the last couple of weeks. Could this be a sign? Is s/he storing up energy for the big debut??

I don't remember with my older kiddos but I hope not! This little one has been super active today and I'm still hoping she'll come out soon.

Mine has been the same the last couple days. Definitely moving "enough" but much smaller movements and not crazy kicks. I remember my kids being a bit quieter in the week or so before labor last time but I don't remember an exact pattern. At this point it wouldn't surprise me if this baby suddenly got active again tommorrow and I gave birth in 3 weeks...but it wouldn't surprise me either if I had the baby this weekend. I have no clue anymore!

This baby decreased activity the two to three days before birth. I don't remember what happened with my first.

reading this thread, i had to think if i actually felt her move today...oops.
I guess the movements have been sooo calm for a few days now. she's always been SUPER mellow. I don't remember with my first. I think they just have less room to move as they grow, a pound a week right? less and less space...

I just had the opposite experience. The baby started getting really active the day or so before labor. In fact, on the way to the hospital, I remember telling DH that I wished the baby would calm down because all its wiggling was making the contractions more uncomfortable.

All of mine were kicking and punching right up until they arrived although I have heard some get quieter as it is so tight for space by the end.
