3 yr old dental checkup- what to expect?

I take ds for a regular dental checkup on the 25th. What do they usually do with kids his age at a checkup?

Best to ask your dentist. Some do more than others on the first check up. A lot will depend on how your ds responds to the dentist and to the experience.
In our experience, the basics are a visual exam, probe for cavities (with the little metal pick), and x-rays. Then a follow-up appointment is made for cleaning and any further work if necessary.
