April 5 through April 12 weekly update

My turn to start since Miss Ann had her baby and all.

Let see...baby def. dropped overnight...i am not one that looks DRAMATICALLY different, or feels different, but i know it happened. Same wtih DS. My belly button is way lower and DH confirmed. I also feel some wiggling like she's trying to groove her way into my pelvis. Wierd but doesn't hurt.

Feeling good otherwise. No BH at all that i recognize. My little 23m DS is potty learning and doing fabulous, very few accidents, even when out and about (uses training pants then). I am just soaking up my last one-one time with him. Today we went for his first movie "Horton Hears a Who". He has a long attention span and little TV so he loves the treat. It was fun. I love this kid.

Still "eh" about a name. Since the week DS was born we thought of Nora and its been that ever since. I have a list of names I love but most are pretty popular (Ava/Ruby/Lily/Grace/Julia/Olivia/Irene) and nothing seems to be it. I will have to wait to see her. I can't wait!

My mom from the US arrives Tuesday. I am so sooooo soooo excited! She hasn't seen DS since Oct. so this will be a lot of fun.

I guess that wasn't all baby stuff but that's my world. How's everyone else doing?

We're in a panic trying to clean the house before my inlaws arrive tommorrow. My kids are like tornadoes and have undone almost all the work I have done this week, mama is not happy. I realized I also forgot to sew a heavier blanket for baby, so I'm putting the binding on that right now.

I'm feeling great right now, my pelvic pain has been non existant that past couple of days, I have energy (I'm able to take my medications again, thank goodness) so don't feel like an incoherent zombie. I wish something labor wise was happening though.

I am doing ok... having a kind of crappy week with worrying about hubby and wishing he could just tell the army to screw off so he could come home... though I realize that he can not do that for a million different reasons. Anyway, I am really ready to have this kid. I have an appointment Tuesday so maybe something interesting will happen... or at least have started happening!! I am kind of feeling like I am going to be pregnant forever.

I've been getting crampy type contraction for a few days now...but I'm not due til the end end of the month, so I am trying not to make anything of them. I am 37 weeks tomorrow.

I use to scrub the house twice a week; I'm up to 4 times a week now...trying my best to keep the house clean each night in case it is "the night"!

I have no idea where my cervix is or how it's doing as I have not checked or had an internal done. I might try checking myself tonight or tomorrow just out of curiosity.

Woke up last night to annoying contractions, not the kinda that hurt like heck but the kind that are more annoying and keep you from sleeping. About 15 min apart lasting about 30-45 sec, nothing special but it was nice to feel them at last. Of course by this morning they had petered out. I've had that a few more times through out the day so hopefully something is getting going.
I have my 38w3d appt on Tuesday and I'm hoping to find out I've made some progress and heck maybe she'll show up before then.

I have 2 score swollen boobs and 1 sleepy newborn ouch...

Still working on regaining my muscles in my middle. and again ouch...

Let's see... 39 weeks somewhere between Monday & Thursday. I've been having contractions, but they've mostly just been annoying until recently. The back pain and pain on the top of my pubic bone are getting to me... Ouch! I've been sleeping a lot more this last week, makes me a little nicer to be around. I'm not seeing the midwife until Friday this week. My mil is coming in on Saturday, so either this one pops out before then or we're going to have to try and coax him out of there. I think I'm ready now, whenever he is.

Well, my MW leaves for Israel tomorrow so I just about missed my window to go early. Of course she has backup, but now I just might as well hang out for 10 more days.

DS is on spring break this week, so we will be busy trying to do something fun every day. Tomorrow we may try out this new drop in gymnastics play place (1st visit is free! yay!) or if they arent open, then we will go to a new park in the next town that the kids love. And I will probably be dropping dead of exhaustion by 2pm.

Otherwise, I have intermittent crampy ctx and some low back ache, but nothing that lasts long enough or nothing that comes even close to a pattern. So we're just in a holding patttern here.

No news here. I'm 40w1d and miserable and moody and emotional and I just want to cry. I'm trying to stay on top of the house and failing, trying to keep up with the girls' schooling and failing, trying to be pleasant and a good mother & wife and I'm failing at that too.

I see my backup m/w on Wednesday and anticipate the start of the "post dates" talk (i.e. going to see an OB, schedule NSTs etc etc) and it's just going to stress me out even more. Not anticipating a good week.

Baby is giving no sign of being ready to come at all.

mama_ani- Have you started any of the typical natural induction techniques or just want to wait it out until the babe is ready?

I just did my first own cervical check, so I am not sure exactly what I was looking for. visited a few websites....but I still am not sure how to tell effacement-- seemed my cervix was maybe like an inch? I could almost fit in two fingers so I guess that's like 1.5 cm.

Looks like no babe until much later...EDD april 28thish.

Did you measure how big your fingers are? If you can fit 2 fingers in you are probably more like 2-3cm, my fingers measure a little less than 1 1/2 inches which converts to 3cm

Thanks for the info! yeah, i think i am 2 or so then, possibly more.

Does it mean anything when your cervix is way in the back? Does position say anything?

Not sure, mine was further back about a week ago but now it's more in the front and easier to reach so I'm guessing that means I'm effaced more? I have an appt with my OB on Tuesday so I'm sure she'll let me know

I am not coordinated enough to check my own cervix, not to mention I have no idea what I would be feeling for... but I am REALLY hoping that SOMETHING is happening with it at my appointment Tuesday!!

I've had more BH then ever on Saturday after finally being able to get outside and putter around the yard. Spring is finally here! Or at least it was this weekend. So I suppose that's progress, although I haven't really had any other impending signs. My cervix is still ridiculously hard to reach, so I don't think it will be any time soon.

My backup care doctor appt. is Tuesday, I'm not sure if I even want her to check anything or not. Don't want to be disappointed! Then the midwife on Thursday again.

ETA: Oh yeah - sharp cervical pains on Saturday too. Those were new. And not at all pleasant, as they were mostly happening as I was trying to make small talk with the neighbor...

Lots of cervical sharp pains and lots of BH, but nothing else ..... this feels soo surreal !!!!

nak

i thought my breasts were big last time around but this is ridiculous. my great accomplishment with dd1 was having a boob that was bigger than her head, now they're bigger than my own head! They've got to be a G cup by now.

how on earth am i going to find a bra this big? Sears and Walmart certainly don't sell them this large.

maybe you can fit into a bikini and go on some mtv talk shows, and become famous! Really, though, are they bothering you or painful? or just big?
I told my DH that he better enjoy mine when they're big this time, because they get so droopy/deflated after the first month or two, and this is going to be our last baby, probably...so no more big, firm breasts....welll unless I consider surgery.

MKmama, How did your mom's doula training go? Is she excited and ready, too?
For my last birth, I asked my mom to be my 'doula' and gave her a bunch of stuff to read, and she didn't bother to read it, and the whole time I was in labor (which I wanted to stay home for...GBS +...so I was trying to stay until it was too late for me to transfer) she was saying, 'ok, we have to call the midwife, ok it's time to go to the hospital', and she got my husband all worked up about it, too, and I want to the hospital.
So I am really excited for you, because I think that is a neat opportunity when a mom gets how wonderful it can be!

My update: My duedate is April 19, I don't notice any signs of impending labor, but this last week, I slowed waaaaaaaaay down. By the end of my normal day, I just want to sit..very unlike me. But really, I am trying to enjoy the sensation of being pregnant, so I don't forget how amazing it feels to have her inside when she's out!

It's nice to read everyone's updates, it seems like the births are coming so fast, wow, it really IS April!

Gee, i thought i dropped when i wrote the OP, and i DID...but now i'm REALLY low and when i stand up i feel pressure in the pelvic area and she was wiggling her little head yesterday so i am sure she is engaged...

Can they really stay this low for long? I am starting to feel like labor is just a week or so away...i've never been one for many BH so its hard to say! With DS it was just a SHOCK as i had been totally up and about the day before.

I feel it is coming soon...and my mom gets on the plane today, arrives here tomorrow! YAY! :
