April 5 through April 12 weekly update - Page 4

Had my checkup today. Now my OB thinks I'll get past my due date... and asked me what I'm thinking in terms of that. He's fine with me going past (what I said was, I'm fine with 42 weeks... but at 42+1 I start getting really nervous) so long as we have NSTs 2x/week. :-/ Ay-yi-yi. Anyway, so I'll have my first NST on Tuesday, unless baby decides to grace us with his/her presence before then.

So I still see my Ob even though we're planning a homebirth with a midwife, since i just got the midwife less then 2 weeks ago and it's an underground one, and i felt it would be wierd to just drop my DR so late in the game.
Anyways... I went to my 40w 2d apt today i'm still 40% and barely 1cm. Same as i was 3 weeks ago. UGH.
she mentioned induction but isn't being pushy and is ok with letting me go a full 2 weeks over.( at which point the midwife wouldn't feel comfortable doing a home birth anywyas)
My gut tells me this baby isnt gearing up to be born. I'm just getting a bit stressed out.

But if you do that after the baby you end up leaking milk into the bed and sleeping on full boobs is about as comfy as sleeping on a baby belly. Sorry.

appt took forever but went well.
ive lost 1 pound. baby is still head down. had him check my cervix and its up real high but i think mine is always up real high. he said it as really soft and that he wouldn't doubt if i was 1-2 cm dilated.
with lini when my water broke i was 0 cm dilated so we'll see!
he asked if i wanted my cervix irritated and i said no just out of fear of it making my labor longer and more painful.

Had my OB appt today (38 weeks) -- I'm 1cm dilated!! I know that doesn't necessarily mean anything, but after so many "nothing's happening yet" appts, it was nice to finally have some news to share with DH! The baby still hasn't dropped much, and my cervix isn't effaced, but at least something's going on -- I'll take what I can get!

I did have a bit of a scare when my OB couldn't find the baby's heartbeat for a while -- I laid there reminding myself that I felt the baby move this morning, but it was still scary. She finally found it, and then wondered aloud if the baby had turned breech! She did an internal exam and was able to feel that the baby is still head-down, so everything ended up being fine, but it was a bit nerve-wracking!

I'm still here. I'm having one of those days where I just feel *done*!!! I've been so tired and I literally catnapped all day, my poor kiddos have been playing so good together and helping me out but I feel exhausted. I keep thinking that I might have a small leak because I'm so juicy (for lack of a better term) down there and some times when I wake up from a nap I've either sweated ALOT or I have a small leak. It's driving me nuts to not know but I really don't know so I'm just waiting for something to happen. I'm cranky and irritated at everything *blah*

Christy, this is me too, all of it. I keep finding damp spots in my undies that I wasn't expecting and I have been wondering if I have a small leak. It happens once or twice a day. I called my doula yesterday (who is also a midwife) and she seemed to think that since it isn't continuous, and just damp (not soaking wet), that it was probably just within the realm of normal discharge.

Lost another chunk of my musous plug last night, about the size of a dime. Other than that, nada going on. 39 weeks now

sciatic pain flared up something FIERCE on thursday; ever since i've been limping around like fred g. sanford. and the g stands for 'good lord, am i STILL pregnant??' this only happened once before and after a few days he must've moved off the nerve b/c it just went away. i'm feeling bulging in different places now and think he might be flipping. let's hope he hits the magic 'ease mommy's pain' spot soon and settles in there.

BHing like crazy, particularly in the mornings. together with the sharp pain in one buttock i am quite the chipper cheery one to wake up next to! DH is a champ though, walking around like my human crutch and doing all my lifting.

on a much brighter note, spring has sprung. it's been super warm and beautiful. i had a prenatal massage on friday. yum! it was lovely. also walked around a little, window shopping, and cherry blossoms fell into my hair.

Hey mammas,

Havent been online in years but my mom just gifted me her old laptop and internet service. Yippie. I am due April 19, have been on bedrest since december and am getting antsy to say the least. The weather is getting nice and I want to be able to do *something* ANYTHING.
Hoping to get to know all of you.
