Unrefined shea butter question

I'm a long time lurker that has just began trying to 'detox' my life if you will. I have made the switch mama cloth and LOVE LOVE LOVE them. My flow is probably 25% of what it was, and my cramps are completely gone now!

So, one of the changes is switching from regular lotions and body butters to more natural. I bought some unrefined shea butter, and to be honest, it smells like lard. I love how it makes my skin feel, but I don't want to smell like lard! LOL!

Is there anything that I can to to eliminate the smell?

I melted some and added a little essential oil to it, and then poured it back into the container. You could also buy some natural body butters that just have shea and EOs and a couple other oils in them- or make your own. I made some with shea, jojoba and a little aloe and EO. I'd never done it before so it's greasy but hey, it moisturizes and it smelled like peppermint for a long time!

I make lotion bars from shea butter. You just need to melt the shea butter, and whatever oil you want to use, add your favorite EO and some beeswax. I shape them in some small silicon mold and there, perfect size for a whole body application!

Could you give exact measurements please? I have a TON of shea butter that really needs to be used.

This is going to be tricky as I don't really measure stuff.... in general...

2 part shea butter
2 part coconut oil
.5 part beeswax
1-2 part almond oil, or whatever oil you have
.5 part calendular oil (if you have it)
10-20 drops of your favorite EO

you will need to melt the beeswax first, before adding the rest of the butter/oil, and leave the calendular and EO the last.

Try getting some from agbangakarite.com, theirs is the only one I use - I find it to be pretty mild, and nearly undetectable in blends.
