I always have the urge to do circular also...
and I have no draw to the baguas....other than to cover all major areas of my life, or to apply to my house, but not may map, so I'm going free-form and just letting the colors and creativity flow....

My affirmations, which may still be changed a bit. I too am not sure if there is such thing as too many affirmations. But I feel this covers all bases in what I want for this year.

DH and I are able to fully provide for our family. I am free of stress and am gratiful for what I have.

I am a social person. I am respected and known for my kindness and patience.

I truly love and respect DH and am loved and respected in return. Our love and relationship continues to grow and strengthen.

I take the time to make memories with my family and enjoy them for who they are. My love for DS and DH is unconditional and joyful.

I am a runner.
I am strong.
I am healthy and can feel it.

I see the joy in DS's eyes everyday. I take the time to explore my thoughts and put them to paper. I am an author.

I believe in medition and self-love and practice this each day. I am a student.

I am growing in my career. It is fulfilling.

I will see new places and old places with new eyes and an open heart. Guidance will come from true friend.

Question!

Just wanted to ask, do you put things on your map that are not about YOU, but rather about someone you care?

For example, there are things I hope to see happening for my DP and DSD. Should you expect for things to work just because you want them to, even though it is only indirectly related to you?

I think you can only manifest for yourself. But, you could put things like "I'm so glad that I am happy about where DS is in school" or "I'm so pleased with DH's new job" since those are about your feelings rather than "DH works at XYZ Company" or "DS attends St. Van Der Linden Country Day School".

I want to keep reading everyone's posts but am on a roll with cleaning I only have a minute to update what is going on with my TM. This is my first one so it is a new experience for me. I went and picked out my mags today and got home. Only I didn't want to touch the magazines yet, I haven't even taken them out of the bag and have no motivation to do so. So I thought I would gather the rest of my supplies. I went to grab the poster board I bought just for this and it didn't feel right, so I garbaged it. It was a wierd feeling, I have never had an adversion to paper before. I started to think maybe this isn't for me after all, I hate my paper and don't want to open my magazines. I went to change the laundry and found myself sidetracked in my arts and crafts cupboard before I even realized what I was doing. I ended up grabbing a stack of water colour paper and some paints. I didn't try to think too much about it and jsut went with my gut on this. Then I started wondering my house trying to find a place to work on it. I ended up settling in the master bedroom. None of the other rooms felt right, so even thought my room is currently a sty (because I have every peice of clothing my baby owns out in piles while I sort all over the room) I knew this was where I had to do this.

I put on some Christian rock, closed my eyes and started painting. Now I am not an artist but I can paint water colours in abstract on a paper for a background. In the end I painted 4 with all the colours I chose but 2 I had strong feelings on for different colours. When I was in my craft cupboard I only took the green, blue, grey and white. None of the other colours spoke to me. The 2 backgrounds that ended up different one is only grey and white, the other is almost solid blue with a tiny bit of green and white. While they dried I went back to my cleaning and while I usually hate it I am feeling more and more energized to be doing it and as it clears out I feel myself slowly being drawn to my magazines.

So from the looks of it my TM is actually going to be on 6 9x12 peices of paper that I will slip sheet protectors on. I also have the feeling they need to be attached to my ceiling when this is done and have a few affirmations/messages to write on them brewing in my mind.

Back I go to cleaning and I have a feeling I will be relaxed flipping through my mags in a short while. Oh positive too, my folks kept my oldest 3 kids over night so I could do this in peace I just have to get up early to go get them before they go to work in the am.

swellmomma, that is very cool. I love how we all have our own methods and rituals for our maps, but we are all creating similar things.

When I made my map last year I was separated from my boyfriend. I had decided that I was done with him and his depression. So on my map I put the affirmation "I love truly, fully, and deeply and am loved truly, fully and deeply in return", pictures of happy, affectionate couples and the quote from a magazine "This is what real love looks like." I was not thinking about trying to change my boyfriend, I just knew what I wanted and deserved in my life. And I found it. In my boyfriend. We came back together and our relationship became much more loving and affectionate and close and we've gone through some terrible times with his depression but we've made it through.

So, maybe focusing on the kind of love you want would be helpful.

I started my TM last night after DS went to bed. Put some celtic instrumental music on, and a dim lamp, then I sat on the living room floor with a cup of coffee and all my magazines. I had decided to use some old magazines that I had, but today I felt that I needed to buy some ones too. I bought some great ones about sustainable, green architechture and green living which are things that my DH and I are working towards incorporating into my life. I haven't looked through them yet, but I'm sure there will be some great pictures in them.

This morning, I've stuck coloured squares onto a cardboard background for a baguas arrangement. I'm still stuck as to what to put into square #9, but I've got the rest of them covered.

I still need to work on my affirmations also.

you can use anything for inspiration Sometimes mags are just easy to cut out and not have to print. I plan on finding some off the net too. not having much luck yet lol.

i just finished going thru the mags i bought today and i think i may be in the "text-y" camp this year too. most of what i clipped was clipped b/c of the words on it.

i figured out how i'm going to arrange it. well sort of. i've come up with titles for my sections anyway:

I cut out a bunch of pictures and got a ton more off the internet today. It started to feel soul-sucking, and not uplifting at all. Then I realized that I was focusing on THINGS (houses, shoes, clothes, cars), and although I do want those, my focus really needs to be on my spirituality. So I found a bunch of images to represent that, and then I felt a lot better.

I'm glad someone mentioned that they are using the baquas to make sure they cover all areas, but not to set up their board. I am an engineer, so I want everything to be perfectly balanced. It was starting to throw me off that I only had a couple things in some areas and a lot in others (or the pictures were just bigger in some areas). If I give myself permission to not have to use 9 equally-sized rectangles, that will help me a lot

not true, its just your guidance letting you know where you dont want to be, adn we are just trying to give you a faster route to the happy path no worries, all is well

I do deserve it! So I'm going big. I realized that none of my affirmations were for "material" items. I guess I am growing up. And now I want to add in one material item
