wow, I can't believe you had to deal with the medical professionals telling you to get induced, and I am sorry that your family is not supportive, either.

I am curious about the test where you had to lay flat on your back. What were they looking for?
My baby does not move when I lay flat, only if I am inclined or on my side.

It sounds like you are making good choices for you and your baby! you are being a strong mama, kudos to you!

It was really nice to know that you all were pulling for me and the little one!!

I have to say, it wasn't really hard to be assertive in this case (probably because I was not in labor).. when they couldn't really refute my reasons against induction. And the attending said that "I would have a case if I wasn't full term". Whhhhhaaaaatttt?

This has kind of shaken me up as far as labor goes, so I am trying very hard to get back my calm.

Just lurking from another DDC, and as a doula and mum I have to say KUDOS TO YOU! It takes a lot of strength to deal with that kind of manipulation (I have seen it many times) and it sounds like you took all of the information and made a very informed decision! I do hope you get your homebirth and that it is AWESOME!!!
