Hi everyone! It's been a long, long time since I've posted in this challenge. Congrats to Snozzberry!!!
We just moved so we need to re-green. So far, 99.9% of our cleaning stuff is vinegar, water, baking soda, lemon juice and some essential oils. I have some Chlorox Green Clean that I'm using up and then not buying again. We've instituted the mellow yellow rule. We have changed all lights to CFs except our kitchen. That uses two fluorescent tubes so I have to see about those. They pulse terribly.
My goals for this month:
Get my baby back into cloth full time. We slipped a little with the move.
Get dh to stop using paper towels for everything.
Collect shower water/other excess water to use to water plants and the garden.
I'm going to really try to get some mama cloth if the $$ is available this month.
Shop at local farmer's markets. We just moved within 10 minutes of THREE farms that have well-established markets. Woo-hoo!
Try walking to work on some days.
Get dh to shut lights off.
Take shorter showers. I'm so bad with this.
Keep the thermostat at 60 or off.
Use cloth napkins.
Stay local for family activities. (less gas)
Set up my composting system.
Eliminate our plastic food containers and switch to glass and stainless steal.
Get ds a Sigg cup and ditch the plastic sippies for when we go out. He drinks out of regular glasses at home.
That's all I can think of for right now. I know there's more but we've been overwhelmed with our move.
