Can I effectively wash baby's clothes/diapers in *just* bs/v?

We're visiting my parents and I usually bring my own laundry soap, but I forgot this time. I *hate* using the detergent they have here, it's so strong and no matter how much you rinse it seems to always leave a residue. There is, of course, baking soda and vinegar. Will that do the job you think?

That's what I use for laundry (diapers included) when I run out of Charlie's Soap. Seems to work fine.

It works for me too. I have read somewhere that bs isn't good for bumGenius diapers. I have 3 or 4 of those and have noticed no problem, but I also use detergent about 1/2 the time.
