I'm (re)reading The Maker's Diet right now and DH is interested in being purposeful about doing the 40 day healing program laid out in the book. Has anyone done this? Please tell me about your experience

I have, twice. I had very good results. I lost weight both times (more the first time, as I had an older baby, was more active, etc. than right now with a younger babe), found my sugar cravings disappeared while eating that way, my moods became very stable, my energy improved a lot.

I have been able to pretty much stick to eating this way; I am generally eating a very low grain, low sugar diet. It isn't hard, once you get past the initial week or so. You sort of get into a groove, and your body begins to lose the craving for sweets and grains. Give it a shot! There are so many good things to eat that you won't miss the stuff that isn't allowed.
