Am I a total wuss for wanting to stop working? I'm only 37+4. If I stop now and don't have the baby until 42 weeks i'll have taken a month off prior to the birth and I don't really want to do that. But all of this squeezing makes me crabby and I can hardly concentrate on anything..

What would you do? You can go ahead and tell me I suck and to quit being a baby I never knew how badly pregnancy could push you to your limit. I always thought I was a strong person and its pretty harsh finding out that I'm just not.

Wow, I'd say that counts!

I doubt anyone would call you a baby! I think you are a trooper.

It's very hard to decide when to take leave especially if you don't have a lot of time and you want to use it as best as you can. If you can, I may take a day to see how you feel. How your body is responding, how you feel emotionally and mentally. It sounds like your body is ready for you to take a rest or to get this baby out!

If it's a case of WWYD, I would take leave.

Thanks .. they don't hurt very much, just achy most of the time. I guess I'll just try and focus on wrapping up what I need to today and relaxing about the actual day I go on leave.
I only need to work 30 days after maternity leave, and might work a bit more to ease the budget a little, but after that I'm going to SAH so I guess its not the end of the world no matter what I decide to do....

And now that I've spent all this time timing contractions and whining about it, its already noon so I only have to squeeze out a few more hours. If this keeps up into the evening I'm totally calling off tomorrow....

I don't think your contractions mean anything, unfortunately, but that's definetly not to say you're a wuss and should just keep on working.
I think making pregnant women work is cruel and unusual punishment!
It sucks to take off early becuase then you're punished with not having enough time to spend with baby once he is here, so I understand your dilemma.
I say go for it, take off already and just pay attention to your body and your baby and your house and focus on getting ready.
Do you really need any excuse except for that you're pregnant?

I agree with NewMa. I've been having those for about three weeks now on and off. It sucks. I know. However, I'm not working and it would be completely torturous if I was. If you can take off work, I would, but if it means less time with baby, it would be a tough decision.
