Most All Clad is still made in the US. There are some specialty items (asparagus steamer, 12qt multi-pot, etc) that are MIC. The MIC items have a brushed SS finish instead of a shiny one. Also, some of the lids for the regular pots are MIC too. I'm thrilled with my US made AC, but there is a definite difference in the MIC pieces, they aren't nearly as nice.


I buy my All Clad from CookwarenMore. They offer factory seconds (cosmetic flaws only) at discounted prices. Two of the four pieces I've ordered from there I've never found anything wrong with.

I see Le Creuset often at TJ Maxx, but I haven't bought any from them so I haven't checked to see what the quality is (first quality, seconds, etc). I have bought first quality items from evilbay though.

I'm frugal by my upbringing and necessity, and learning to be greener.

Food: using less meat/animal products, buying things with less packaging, trying to eat healthy will save money and be "green" in the long run
Cleaning: I mostly clean with water, vinegar, and baking soda.
Clothes/Furniture/Household stuff: thrift store lover!

Wish I could do better w/ transportation. I do not live in a bike-friendly/safe town, and I'm far from family, so I drive to work and fly or take the train about twice a year.

I knew some of the stuff was MIC because there was a factory tour program on our public access channel (the PA factory) and the company rep. was open about some of the items. I know the Emerilwear stuff is MIC.
