Fit Pregnancy/Moms & Baby Magazine

I bought a "Fit Pregnancy/Moms & Baby" magazine last summer and I just reread it and realized that its very pro breastfeeding. There are only 2 formula ads and tons of breastfeeding advice. They talk about nursing asap when baby is born, how if you're not getting enough sleep to lay down with baby and nurse sideways. They even have safe co-sleeping tips on their website. I just glad to have found a magazine that is for breastfeeding.

I think that issue may have been part of the sample pack I got from the ob's office when I first got pg last summer. I remember being impressed with the good info in it.

Mothering magazine promotes breastfeeding and safe co-sleeping too.

ETA: And there are zero formula ads!

Yeah, someone gave me all their old Fit Pregnancy Magazines last summer when I got pregnant. VERY VERY pro-bf'ing and also anticirc and antiCIO. It has advice you can ask a doctor and he says he "doesn't recommend circumcision" and that "CIO isn't healthy". I was impressed!

Fit Pregnancy is the best commercial pregnancy (and baby) mag out there. Dr. Jay Gordon even does a column, and y'all are right; they are extremely pro-breastfeeding. Give a copy to a mom to be today (along wtih Mothering, of course!)

It's been awhile but they have a lot of sling wearing mamas in there too. I get a subscription as a gift for all my mainstream preggo friends.

I cut a photo out of that magazine a few months ago; it was so beautiful I had to save it. It was this 1920s looking mama reclining and breastfeeding a baby in a green cloth diaper. I was surprised how good the magazine was, overall.
