If all goes well, this will be my second HBAC. I have interviews set up with 2 local(ish) midwives and will be scheduling one with another. I had a VBAC at home with DD2 and it was a life changing experience, no exaggeration. I came away from it realizing my true strength and it has served me well in the last 3 years. My original midwife is still around and I may still go with her, but we had some friction at the end that left the relationship a little uneasy. In the end though, she helped me have the birth DD and I both deserved and NOBODY else in the area would have "let" me. I have an appt with my VBAC friendly OB and was even considering a hospital birth for financial reasons (100% covered if it is network vs $7500 out of network deductible) but I just can't bring myself to do it.
