Anyone else excited for the diapers? What's your fave as of now, fave for the NB stage, etc? Anyone making their own??

Ooh, me, me! :

Right now I've discovered Green Mountain Diapers' red edge unbleached prefolds, they are

I'm going to be ordering some unbleached flats from Little Lions (I think that's the name), and some bamboo fleece through a co-op.

I've discovered DiaperSwappers and am totally addicted to looking at all those ladies' yummy fluff!

BBL, gotta get the kiddos to bed

I will be, and ECing too. I am behind the times on cloth diaper stuff since my youngest is almost 4. I made almost all my diapers for my older kids, except for 1 doz. prefolds I bought w/ ds2. I really liked the poquito pants I made for ds2, they are like tiny AIOs. Thinking about buying a snap press this time, too.

We have CD'd 3 out of our 4 kids....I am planning on it with our 5th too.

I LOVE Fuzzi Bunz. Last time I tried everything else....wool, fitted, prefolds, etc. But I just love my FB's.

Hmmmm...I think "CD" means cloth diapers? If so, count me in Baltimore actually has a "green" diaper company that will deliver, wash, pick-up diapers for $17 a week. I haven't quite decided if that's the route we want to go since I am not sure I want to spend that kind of money BUT it sure sounds like a great option.

What's EC?

I'm going to look into ya'll's recommendations--thanks!

Well since #3 is still in CD I don't think I will be stopping anytime soon

$17 sounds like a steal to me! DS1 is still in diapers, and we pay $19.99 for a box of Huggies. They last almost 2 weeks - for a toddler. :

I would love to CD, but living in an apartment where the laundry room is in another building turned us off. A washer/dryer in our unit is #1 on my priority list when we move!

I cloth diapers my 3 year old and am currently cloth diapering my 3 month old and plan to the next too. I love kissaluvs for newborns because they have the snap down for the umbilical cord. I have been using fuzzibunz, but also love blueberry diapers and a bunch of others.

EC is elimination communication. Taking babies to the potty when they signal that they need to go, or when your intuition tells you they might need to go, or based on timing--he nursed 10 minutes ago so he probably needs to pee right now. There's a subforum here about it under diapering. I did it with both my boys and they were both totally out of diapers around 21-22 months.

As for diapers, my favorites in the past have been prefolds (homemade or not) and velcro covers like bummis or bumkins. Simple and easy.

I currently cloth diaper my almost 3 year old and do plan on doing the same with the next. I have only used prefolds and wraps because they were cheap. I made most of my diapers and found lots of wraps at thrift stores. I also tried making some pocket diapers but they were too small for my son. I might try to do that again! I never was able to figure out a good solution for night time so my son has worn a disposable for most of his nighttimes. I'd definitely like to stay away from that this time.

My current love affair is with flats. I have about 2 dz. brand new ones I bought back when PG with DD that I plan to get dyed up for this DC. Flats with wool or proraps/bummis is the plan, with some prefolds mixed in.

We are going to CD as well because we CD my son but we also do EC which I
I just can't imagine having a little one under two and a newborn in sposies. CD'ing can seem overwhelming at first but once you have a system down, it's really easy and so much easier on the budget.
