Am I crazy? (Disneyland tomorrow) And, a funny thought

So, a friend called up this morning to see if we're interested in going with them to Disneyland tomorrow. We actually turned down a trip today with our usual crowd, but there's *no way* could have kept up with them. This, however, is a friend with a daughter the same age as my son, and a baby born in November... them, I could keep up with.

DH would not be able to go. Yeah, he takes personal days for Disneyland trips several times a year, but this is just not a week he can do that. Labor is pretty much the only excuse he can use to duck out of work this week.

So... I'd be an hour-plus away from him. I'd have the car. I'd have my son, and be with two other adults, one other kid, and an infant. If I *went* into labor... gosh. Maybe have the dad drive me in my car back to town, while my friend drives her kids? Hm.

I could say no, of course... but DS has been asking about Disneyland lately, and it would be a nice surprise for him, especially as he gets more anxious about his whole little world turning upside down with impending siblinghood. So I'm tempted to go!

As for my funny thought... DS is watching The Incredibles. I can't help but think, wow, birth must be really, really EASY for Elastigirl (Helen). "Oh, baby's ready... [pop] and here s/he is!"

I don't know what you should do, but if I see a headline that reads "Mother gives birth in Teacup Ride", I'll know you decided to go...

I personally wouldn't go, but I have super fast labors. If that's not the case for you, and you're not showing any obvious signs of impending birth, then it sounds like it might be worth the "risk." And heck, if you have a baby in Disneyland you'll probably get some cool free stuff out it!

: I'm not even venturing out to go grocery shopping alone at this point, so the idea of driving somewhere an hour away and walking around all day sounds impossible. I had a very rapid labor last time though, so that is my reasoning. If you are feeling up to it and think you could figure out a way to get home if you go into labor, then I think its okay. Although it probably would *really* wear you out to go today and if you go into labor soon you might regret having spent that much energy. I know that at this point I tend to think I can do way more than I actually can!

I have no idea! I have tickets to an event on Saturday where the Dalai Lama is speaking and I want to go sooo much!

Hey, it could definitely make for an interesting birth story.

Ugh, I went there a few weeks ago and was laid up in bed with crippling tailbone pain for the next 3 days from all the walking.

But if you've been tolerating moderate walking well with no soreness and feel up to it in terms of energy, you'll probably do just fine!

Well, it happens there's another appointment that I had tenatively made for tomorrow that I'd forgotten about, so I probably should just go with my original plan and send DS to school while I stay home (or, rather, go home after my OB appointment).

Eh, it's a LOT of money, even just for the two of us (our friends have a parkhopper 2fer, so we'd want to get parkhoppers too... HOLY CRAP it's $81/$91!).

Ok, I'm skipping it. I definitely did NOT have a "fast labor" last time ;-) (52 hours between when my water broke and our c-section birth) and don't expect to this time either, but celestial makes an important point about being exhausted and then going into labor the day after would suck.

Hmmmm...the Dalai Lama vs. Mickey Mouse - that is a totally unfair comparison. I mean, I love mice that can talk and everything, but...

Wow, I dont know that I could do a big park like taht. I was going to attempt the zoo this week with the 2 kids (about an hour away) but my friend couldnt go and suggested Sunday when our DHs would be there. I thought...well another person to push the stroller might be nice.

I cant imagine stopping myself from normal day to day stuff at this point, but huge excursions with tons of walking...eh, not to much.

LMAO! Obviously, that didn't occur to me! At this point, an all day event with tons of people around, is just that! The thought alone exhausts me.

I still don't know, but what Celestial said is sounding like pretty damn good advice.

Seriously your plans I'd have a hard time turning down. And I'm not the best person to take advice from as I literally don't want to get off the couch and my maternity clothes suddenly don't fit. I want to sit in my favorite pajamas with the waistband rolled down, cuddled up on the couch until the baby is born And when I say my clothes suddenly don't fit... I mean like things that fit me a few days ago, when I went to put on last night I literally put a hole in the waist of my pants and my shirts kept rolling up. : I have no energy even to make a snack when I'm starving and I am *so* grouchy. I think I must be 'done' now, right?

So...the moral of my complaints is this: ...if you feel up to doing stuff...do it but really take it easy!

I'm with you. I'm sitting here in dh's gym pants. I won't even tell you what we had for dinner last night, but I'm barely capable of getting enough energy to feed us all at this point, so dh had to do it... He can't cook, by the way.

We've got to be almost there.

I'm going to play it by ear for Saturday. I'd like for ds & dd to go, even if I don't, but I'm not sure I should be by myself either... I feel closer every day... Want dh around all the time and kinda freak when I can't get ahold of him at work!

(Sorry, for going so OT!)
