I can't believe I found this article on babycenter!

It's an article that gives some good information on extended breastfeeding! Some of the information on the second page isn't entirely correct, but overall the whole feel seems to be supportive.

believe it or not, babycenter is where I first heard about extended nursing, UC, non-vaxing, and a lot of other surprisingly "crunchy" stuff.

Oh yeah, and this thread is probably going to get locked soon. I believe talking about other sites like BBC is a no-no.

Oh whoops didn't know that...I just thought that discussing their forums was off-limits, not their articles. My bad.

That is incorrect. Discussing other online conversations is a (comments on blogs, message boards, etc). Linking to an article is fine.

That's a really nice article, just so common sense. I'm glad its in such a mainstream place for mom's to read. Who knew that Baby center could be so crunchy?

actually, there's a ton of women in my DDC there who are still nursing. Such a high circ rate, though.

I think that was a great article!

I loved how they phrased it: "Why nursing your toddler is a good idea" "Making extended breastfeeding work for you" and, my favorite phrasing of all "Why nursing your toddler can be a challenge."

They could have easily said "why nursing your toddler is a bad idea" to balance out the "why nyt is a good idea" or phrased both as "advantages to EN" vs "disadvantages to EN." The whole tone of the article was supportive- here's why it's a good idea, the "bad parts" listed as "challenges" rather than "reasons you shouldn't do it" and ending with practical advice.

Wow that was great. It was not as stong on NIP. But it was very clear and concise. I like the snappy comeback too!
