Eleanore Rae is here

Eleanore Rae was born April 6 at 3:20 pm. 7 lbs, 20 inches. It was the exact opposite of the birth I wanted to have, but she is perfect anyway.

I started contracting at 2:15 am April 5th, and contracted all day long until they were 3 minutes apart around 8 pm. We checked into the hospital a little after 9 and I was 4 cm. An hour later my water broke and I was 5, but by 3:00 pm on April 6th, I was still not past 6, even though I'd been given more and more and more pitocin for the last 6 hours, as well as tried every position we could. At that point I just couldn't take the pain anymore. (and 4 hours before, the OB on call walked in and said I needed a c-section then, but we disuaded him). So, we ended up with a c-section because the baby's heartrate started dropping, and she had just taken her first poo in the womb.

Regardless of how stubborn she is, she's still beautiful. She's nursing well. We had some issues with latch last night, but she's been doing well today.

Congrats on the baby... condolences on the surgery. Just know that when it's time for a VBAC, we're here for you! (And I hope I'll have a success story to inspire you!)

Take *good* care of yourself. You've got some serious recovering to do.

Oh Congratulations! BEAUTIFUL GIRL!!!!
Just use this time to enjoy and stare at her, she will change within the week! But in time (i started months later) i grieved over the fact that i had a similar labor and c-s. took me 2 years to let go what happened. So know its normal, but you have a healthy sweet girl and its so worth it!

Peace to you this night mama!

Congrats Mama on your beautiful baby! I know it is hard when things don't go as you had hoped (I had an emerg c/s this time). Grieve that loss but I find I just need to look into my sweet babes eyes and know that it saved his life.

Enjoy your babymoon!
