Wow! So many people popping, I'm having a hard time keeping up at work (not to mention work has gotten super crazy trying to tie everything up before I go into labor (due April 21st according to LMP but April 26th according to the early ultrasound I should've declined but glad I didn't since I am a VBAC momma and need all the time I can buy)).
I wrote in a few weeks ago with a "late in the game" GD dilemma (I went in for the test late, and my fasting was higher than my 1 hour after the glucola, which is backwards). I got lots of good advice from here
, but in the end, I chickened out and decided to just get retested with the one hour glucola (no fasting) in hopes that I would only get stuck one more time (I am terrified of needles). Well, it worked - my repeat one hour without the fasting was 104, so either the lab did screw up and got the numbers reversed, or the handful of peanuts I ate at 3am before drinking the glucola at 8am made sure I wasn't in ketosis or anything else that would've skewed the results. What a relief!!! I also had elevated bp with my son in my last pregnancy due to stress, but at the appointment right before I found out about the updated GD test, my bp was only 124/78, even though I was nervous about the results - woo hoo! Now I get to see if I have GBS (had it last time) after all the garlic, vit C, and probiotics I took - I will get the results this Thursday - fingers crossed it is negative so I won't have to worry about it even though I am planning to go to the hospital right before transition (if possible) anyway. Plus, if I am still highly colonized after all that I did to get rid of it, it will make me a little nervous, so hopefully no to low colonization. Yes, I know it seems crazy I'm talking about all of this when it feels like most of you have already had your babies - ha ha!
Other than that I am pretty good - tired, and wishing our house wasn't such a mess, but feeling great otherwise. We made up the baby's room last weekend even though baby probably won't use it (our son is still cosleeping at 3.5) - I just like to be creative and now I have somewhere to break out some of the stuff we still have from the first time around.
Anyway, keep the birth stories coming! I enjoy reading them at work when I have time. I hope to check back before I have the baby, but if I don't, I will try my hardest to get on soon after to update with my own story! Much love and ELV's to everyone!!
