Something that made me feel better about being "past due"

So today, I went back to my 2007 calendar when I was keeping track of ovulation, etc., and I realized that my conception date could be as late as July 17, which means instead of this baby being five days "late," he could actually only be a day late. Was a good reminder to me that the due date is arbitrary, particularly if based on the usual "first date of last period"...

Just thought I'd throw that out there if anyone else was being anal like me and keeping track of such things...

I wish I could rethink my LMP or conception date to reassure me, but I've no clue when they were.

All I can say is that I had a negative pg test on Aug 3 when I got injured at work, and a positive one on Aug 20 when I was wondering If I was pg or just suffering from more crazy pp/nursing periods! That's a big gap!

I have thought about that too. Based on LMP my due date would have been March 16th. I know that's not the case, so I figure it's all just an educated guess. I was wondering about leap year too. Does the little wheel that predicts due dates account for the extra day in a leap year? I know it's only one day, but at this point a day makes a difference

Due date according to Fertility friend was 4/02/08.. which makes me 41weeks1 day.
Due date according to LMP was 4/06/08. 40weeks4 days

Ovulation happened on 7/11 first positive test was on 7/22...

I am kinda hoping both of the above were wrong.. and based on ovulation/positive test I am not as over due as I feel.

I TOTALLY know how that feels. Every day I wake up and say "This is going to be the day!" Every time I stay up too late and go to bed with contractions, I see visions in my head of them picking up and being exhausted late in labor from not going to bed when I should. Every series of contractions during the day I wonder if I'm going to be calling my hubby home from work in an hour.

I know it's crazy to keep doing this to myself, but I'm also paranoid that I'm going to "miss" labor. My mom had no idea she was in labor with me until about 30 minutes before I was born, and I'm so excited about laboring and giving birth at home, I don't want to miss a second of it!

Good point, and this is why I'm so glad I was charting. With my DD, I ovulated on Cycle Day 35, and with DS, on Day 24. That can make a HUGE difference at the end when dealing with providers who think you're "overdue."

Based on LMP and my cycle length (27 days, very regular), my due date is anywhere between April 9th and 12th. ;-) The little wheel says the 12th, while online calculators give me all of the dates in the above range.

However... I think I ovulated relatively early in that cycle (based on CM etc.), and we were DTD all week, since we wanted a better shot at having a girl... so I think that probably all of those dates are relatively "late."

When I count the 269 days of average gestation from the date I think I most likely conceived on, I get April 12th, which is also what they're using in the dr's office, so I've been cool with it.

I've had a "feeling" about April 11th for a while, but that's tomorrow, and aside from some crampiness and being an emotional wreck (which I can put ENTIRELY down to insufficient sleep, topped off by a trip to the zoo this morning and a preschooler who skipped his nap), I'm not "on the way." I expect this to be a long, slow labor (assuming I ever GO into labor... never did last time; got dragged there by a pit pump and my body just never got into it), so I don't think baby's b-day will be 4/11 unless things start happening in the next couple hours.

If I get to 42 weeks, I honestly don't know what I'm going to do. I think unless I have a truly excellent Bishop's score, I'm going to just go for a repeat C at 42+1. :-/ I know my body isn't much for induction, and it would have to be even more gentle than last time anyway due to the scar on my uterus. (42 weeks is *my* comfort zone, btw... don't really know what my doctor's is; he asked me first and didn't volunteer anything after I spoke up.)

Yeah, my EDD ranges from the 20-24th. My cycles were pretty short before I conceived, so much that I was getting worried because we knew we were planning to TTC in a few months and I thought they were getting too short - 23 days. So I am pretty sure the 20th is 40w for me, my HB MW has the 22nd and the backup hosp MW has the 24th. I like it in that order. Especially since i have a history of going past my EDD and since I am vbac'ing, I need the cushion.
