Subseqeunt babies!

For those of you with more than one child.. How long did you go with your first child, and how long for the second/third etc?

With my first I was 37w, 3 d. With my second 36w, 3d. So I've been braced for this one from 35 weeks on. And here I sit, 38w, 2d, with nothing.

And not only that, but my first two labors started very suddenly, and very unmistakably. With this one, I've had almost a week of maddenly prodromal labor. Four nights now of 2-3 hours stretches of contractions 5-6 minutes apart.

I'm in totally uncharted territory now.

40 weeks with DD
39 weeks 6 days with DS


Looks like a couple more weeks to go for me!

The only reason im depressed about it is these contractions I'm getting at night-- I can't stand the thought of 2 or so more weeks with no sleep and then a newborn! which means more no sleep!!!

39 weeks with dd1
40w 2 d with ds1
37w5d with ds2 this year.

However my pattern doesn't say much as #1 was spontaneous labor, #2 was an induction for GD and #3 was an emerg c/s. So I guess my answer isn't all that helpful

DS1: 36 wks 6 dys.
Twins: 33 wks 6 days.
DD2: 37 wks 6 days.
DD3: 35 wks 6 dys.

All spontaneous labors. So my 4th was actually my longest pregnancy.

Lynden was born at 39w 5d. Right now I'm clocking in at 39w 2d, and so so so anxious to have this baby - I hope I don't go longer than last time!

Wow, lotta short primips on this group!

DS was born at 40w4d... water broke at 40+2, spent two days trying to get him out with pitocin before he was finally born by c-section. So he would have gone longer had we left it up to him (I never spontaneously went into labor).

2nd: 1 day early

Gained exactly 53 pounds with each too.

40 + 6 days with DS #1
40 + 2 days with DS #2
both spont labors
now will be 39 weeks tomorrow and no baby yet
i am hoping to be 2days early with this one so next weekend
we will see

Geez nobody has said anything past 41 weeks...I guess I'll balance out the statistics

#1: 41 weeks (induced)
#2: 41w5d
#3: ???


I'm guessing this one will be about 41-42 weeks and a fast labor like my last. I had weeks of prodromal labor with #2 and when labor kicked in, it was very quick. I've had way more prodromal labor than with #2 so far and I'm frankly pretty miserable. I can barely stand up without feeling like the baby is going to fall out or having major contractions.

I remember reading a looooong thread about this maybe a year ago, and the pattern looked like the second was longer than the first, and the third was the same if not faster than the first.

Here's mine:

2 - 40w2d

both were spontaneous labors. with my first my membranes ruptured with my first contraction. with my second i had my first contraction while nursing DD down for a nap, membranes didn't rupture until i was pushing.

i'm 39w exactly today and very curious to see when this one plans on showing up. of course, i don't know O date/conception date this time since i wasn't trying to get pg and was not paying the least bit of attention to my cycles that month, so i might be off a little, but my cycles have always been pretty consistent so it's not likely to be off by much.

#1 was born at 39w4d. I am now 39w3d with #2 and no real signs of him deciding to make an appearance.

#1 was 42 wks and 6 days (I think 6 days)
#2 was 43 wks and 2 days (I think 2 days)
#3 was 38 wks and 6 days

yeah... I was totally expecting to still be pg right now
