Victoria's Secret let us down - Page 2

they do for sure at the gap body stores...I don't know how many bras they have at the normal gap. but they have them online. did I mention that I LOVE gap bras?

Oh yeah I also love that the gap doesn't seem to over sexualize advertising! the posters they have are just more natural than trying to be super sexy!

I would also like to add that I have read that VS lingerie is all sweatshop made, and in many cases made by children.

I don't have any documents or proof on this to share right now but I do remembering reading that from more than one source. Maybe they have changed their policies but I haven't shopped there since reading that.

Good thing you're not a member of the 30D+ tribe - nursing bras under $40 are practically non-existent for us! I had to ask my mom to buy me a nursing bra for my birthday.

I get you 30/32 mamas. I'm a 32E, and if one more salesperson tells me that a 34D should work, I'm going to get violent. Why is it that I have to wear a bra that doesn't fit and I'm supposed to skip out of the store? :

I've gotten this too, but usually wth a 36D when if should have a 34DD/E or 34F.

I'm maybe a bit big side to join the 30/32 club since I am a small 34. A lot of 34's are too big, but some that run small work pretty good and are easier to find than 32's. Personally bras nursing or otherwise are way easier than correctly fitting swimming suit top.

I don't get why VS is getting ripped on in this thread (and other VS threads) for not being sized "realistically". I know it's shocking but some women DO fit in them. I can't fit in Lane Bryant clothes so am I supposed to come on here and rip on Lane Bryant for not having anything in my size?? No, I just go somewhere that does... like VS.

I think the frustration is those of us who don't fit into ANY of the "mainstream" sizes. I'd get laughed at if I went to Lane Bryant, as I still wear juniors size 0, but I can't fit into anything at VS or Frederick's or anywhere else, either!

I think VS is just the current effigy we're burning in a long line of mainstream lingerie angst.

The last time I went into a Victoria's Secret I was shopping for a bra to wear under my wedding gown. The salesgirl looked at me like maybe I had the plague, and she told me immediately that "I don't think we have your size."

What she meant (I understood later) was, "We don't want fat people like you in our store, because we're all thin and pretty here."

So yeah, I go 240 pounds. Yeah, I have an extremely hard to find bra size (48E). I'm still a sex goddess!!! I still deserve to buy pretty lingerie!

I should have stuck that skinny sales girl between two slices of bread & eaten her for lunch...

Thanks everyone for your responses!
I went in to a different VS over the week end and asked about the nursing bras. The (young) clerk was very sweet, and although she didn't know that VS was carrying a nursing bra line, or that they were available online, she did say she would inform her manager and all the other sales associates.

Well geesh, I can't get the one I want in my size. Seems they're selling like hot cakes. Hopefully they take the hint.

I am hoping to find a store that is carrying them to get fitted. I have gone for cheap bras the entire time I have been nursing now (7 1/2 months with my first daughter, almost 3 years with my second daughter/tandem my son for a year). I'm fed up with crappy bras and really want a nice bra that fits properly!

FWIW, a friend of mine received her VS nursing tank in the mail and LOVES it! She says it's the absolute softest material and supportive and her all time fave. So far, she's tried the Target brand old and new style, glamourmom, and the corsierre. She nursed her ds1 for a short period of time due to low supply issues and lack of support but she's very committed to nursing ds2 and if a soft, supportive, well fitting nursing tank from VS helps the cause, I'm ALL for it.

As soon as I have the extra $$ in the budget and can swing it, I'm going to order one. VS is one of the few brands that off the combination of support and a good fit, for some reason, bra manufacturers think that if you're smaller than a C/D that you don't need support or that you want or need padding, and with a good sale and/or coupon, they aren't expensive. I've never paid a lot for a VS bra -- never more than I've paid for Playtex which don't fit me as well -- and since I take care of them, they last me for years.

We come in all shapes and sizes. We can't all buy our jeans, skirts, tops... anything at the same place. Same goes for bras. I mean, my dd can't wear Gymboree clothing because they're cut for kids with differently shaped bodies, but I'm not bemoaning that fact, I just shop elsewhere and don't stalk gymbucks.

A salewomans at my local store tells me they are carrying them in 40 stores across the US...the closest to me is apparently pentagon city. Also when I contacted VS they told me that the piped nursing bra is similar in fit to the Body by Victoria Shaping full coverage bra, which of course i am a 34DD in and their nursing bras don't come in
Did you guys notice they are now carrying swimsuits in stores now too? Now if I could lose 10 lbs....maybe I should try one on for incentive.
YummyYarnAddict- not to sound weird but any idea of what your friends size is? I'm tempted to try the nursing top in 34D anyways. TIA

the VS nursing bras are all nylon/spandex,so they cant breathe ... that sounds like a cry for thrush to me... but i'm pretty prone to it....
