HIB Vax today

DS will be getting the HIB vax today (after much soul searching, seeing my brother suffer w/meningitis 18 years ago is still very fresh in my mind). Is there anything I can do to help his little body recover? FYI, ds is 4 months old and exclusively breastfed.

Well, it's good you are bf. My only suggestion is for you to generally check out some of the suggestions in the nutrition thread in the "resources" section of the archives.

And be aware of the fact that altering our microbial ecosystems eliminates one problem but leaves more room for others. So good probiotics & breastfeeding should be on the list.

Hmmmmm, no they didn't say what kind, and I was told by ped that this would "cover him for all" of the types. D@#$ it! Ok, definetly switching peds now, this is the last straw. WTH?!? Why can't docs just tell us the truth w/stats and let us make up our minds, fully informed? I was feeling good about yesterday's desicion/visit and then I come back to here and hear a truth that I trust more. D@#$ it.
