Recommend a facial moisturizer

I've used Oil of Olay every day on my face since I was about 12 or 13. I really like it, but I would like to find a more natural replacement. What I like about it is that it's very light and non-greasy.

I recently picked up some Burt's Bees Radiance Day Cream and I hate it. It's thick, greasy, and has a very overpowering fragrance. I'd really like to find something more natural that's similar to Oil of Olay.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

I use Juice Organics spf 30. I got it at Ulta and it works as a moisturizer for under my makeup and it is a sunscreen.

I love it!

For about 1 1/2 years I have used straight jojoba oil. I alsolutely love it. Prior to that I tried olive, almond & coconut oils. Before going natural I was using Mary Kay. That's probably similar to your oil of olay. I absolutely LOVE the jojoba. My skin has never looked better. It is so soft & smooth. Last week I added rosehip seed oil to my arsenal. I use it straight around my eyes & forehead and a mixture of rosehip & jojoba on the rest of my face. It feels even better now I think. I highly recommend them both. But my favorite is jojoba.

I second the jojoba oil! I love it! It has so many purposes - too many to list here. I use it wash my face every day, as well as using it to moisturize. I have sensitive skin and it has not irritated it (it actually soothes irritation) or made it break out. I love love love pure jojoba oil!

I have fairly oily skin and I'm hesitant about putting straight oil on my face. Do you all have dry skin or do any of you have a more oily complexion?

I have VERY sensitive, oily, acne-prone skin. I break out VERY easily - and even from things that don't usually bother others' skin.

And I can safely say that washing and moisturizing my skin with pure jojoba oil has NOT increased oiliness or made me break out. It just soothes and softens my skin. That said, I don't apply a ton of jojoba oil as a moisturizer, and it will sink in nicely, even under mineral make-up, as long as you don't over-apply it. Just a little bit. It goes a long way. I it!

If you have the chance, google Oil Cleansing Method.

Have a great day! I'm in a great mood. I get to spend the next 3 days in the forest - my jojoba oil is what I'm taking as an all-purpose cleanser, moisturizer, soother, etc.

Okay, I think I'm going to try it. I'm going to be at Whole Foods today and I'm going to see if they have a teeny, tiny bottle of jojoba oil.

Whole Foods is where I usually buy mine. I think it's the Dessert Essence brand that I like there!

I also sometimes get it online at Mountain Rose Herbs or Garden of Wisdom.

Let us know how it goes!

Jojoba oil is actually a wax, that's why people with oily skin find it doesn't make them more oily. It's very similar to your skin's natural sebum. When you start a good skin care routine (cleanse, tone, moisturize) you may find that the jojoba oil helps make skin less oily over time. If you have really oily skin it might be helpfull to use a french green clay mask once or twice a week. Oh, another good thing to do with the green clay is when you get a zit apply a drop of tea tree and a little clay to it at night and just wash off in the morning, it really helps clear it faster.

The rosehip oil is awesome too, it has vitamin c, omega 3 and 6 I believe.

Missa

I just googled the Oil Cleansing Method. It's funny, the basic theory behind it was actually what my dermatologist (when I was a teenager) told me and why I've always been very concientious about using a moisturizer, even though I have oily skin. Interesting.
