Anyone else out there a week past due date?

Hello,

Just wondering if I'm the only first week of April due dater left out there. I was due April 6, and I'm still pregnant! Had my first round of tests (non-stress test and ultrasound) at the hospital on Friday and have to go in again tomorrow for more. It's weird to have all these tests done when until now the only thing I had was a 20-week ultrasound. But on Friday, baby was doing great...and he's definitely active and moving, so I'm not feeling too worried. I have another midwife appointment today and am hoping that some progress has been made. I have BHs all the time, but nothing "real." Hope these BHs are doing something!

Anyhoo, just wanted to know if there was anyone else out there in a post-date holding pattern still so we could commiserate a little...

Nope, I'm only 3 days over my date.

I'm patiently waiting my turn because I know you were in line before me

Thanks for the labor vibes! I will try to get this line moving...
Spookymama -- what are FF and LMP? (Sorry I don't know the lingo...) -- sending vibes to YOU, too!

Sorry about that! ff= fertility friend (thus based by ovulation) and LMP is last menstrual cycle.

At least we have each other!

Due April 7, still pregnant, and starting to try natural/gentle induction methods cause I don't want a chemical/medical induction next week.

Hi Erika,

What are you trying. So far, I've only really tried sex and pineapple (and probably not enough of either). I feel very skeptical of castor oil...

Until now I've been feeling incredibly calm the entire pregnancy, but now -- as talk of induction is starting to swirl -- I'm starting to feel really anxious...

I was due the 8th-10th and today is the 15th. Ultrasound looks fantastic and I'm trying to really relax and welcome baby when she is ready.

popping in from the may DDC because i wanted to comment on the positives of having a 41+ weeker. my DD was born at 41 weeks 2 days, and let me tell you it was TOTALLY worth the wait.

DD latched like a pro from the very beginning. from what i've noticed through friends and la leche meetings, the farther along you are when you give birth, the less likely you are to have nursing issues. i had the teensyest bit of soreness at the very beginning, but not enough to call pain. no cracked, bleeding nipples... no need to pump or supplement. easy easy!

DD was super alert even from birth. she interacted with us, and she wasn't fussy. she was fun to be around even as a newborn.

DD never had her days and nights mixed up. by 6 weeks old she was sleeping 6 hour stretches at night.

DD didn't have any intestinal/reflux issues. i have no data to support this, but i can't help but believe that giving her little digestive system more time to mature made the transition to outside living easier for that too.

so, there you go! i know how hard it is to be 41+ weeks pregnant, but i really think there's a reward for trucking through. so, good luck, and i hope you're all holding your easy newborns VERY soon!

Thanks majormajor. As long as I'm not induced, he can take as long as he wants! Sounds like latecomers have some good qualities!

I was "due" April 3 so I feel your pain. My first was 11 days late but I am guessing I was off with my dates a bit this time.

Getting more than a little tired of the "Not Yet?!?!" comments from the random peanut gallery though!

Thanks for the reassurance, majormajor! That's all good to know... especially since this kid is 3 days past (the latest of a range of) it's due date(s) and doesn't appear to even have started packing yet.

Most of the time I call someone, I start the conversation with "Still pregnant; not in labor yet" just to avoid the questions. Especially when I call my mom, since she's "on call" for taking care of DS when we are in labor.

Sex, pineapple, nipple stimulation, acupuncture, reflexology, moxibustion, chiropractic adjustment, EPO, walking, bumpy car rides, we're running down the whole list. I've been doing daily acupuncture/reflexology/chiro adjustments. We had a false alarm Sunday, and what I suspect was a false alarm Tuesday afternoon, but it's too soon to tell. I get started, and then I stop. It's like traffic, only even less fun.

I've added in Red Raspberry Leaf tea, too. I start drinking in earnest today... Induction is scheduled for Saturday, so the clock is ticking. I've been considering acupuncture, too. There's an acupuncturist where I live who was an OB/GYN in Poland, so I figure he may have a very good idea of what he's doing...

Erika, I'm jealous that you're even "starting" and stopping. So far, I haven't even had a false start. Just so many BH contractions and an as-of-yet completely undilated cervix. I just don't get it. I feel like my body was made for childbirth, and I don't know why it's not kicking into gear...

Does anyone have a take on castor oil? I've been doing some reading and have almost decided that it's not worth it. My midwife even said that she tried it when she was pregnant and it didn't do anything, but make her feel awful....

In any case, I'm glad to know that I'm not the only from early April still pregnant! Keep me posted!
