hand wash

What do you guys use for handwash? We had been buying from the supermarket but I'd like to get something more natural, any ideas?

I use the same detergent I use for machine washing (7th generation brand.) I just use much tinier amounts- generally I pour some into the cap (with the lid screwed on) then back into the bottle, then take off the cap, fill it with water and pour into whatever container I'm using for hand washables.

My washing machine is in my bathroom right off the bedrooms, so that might not be as convenient if you typically do your handwashing someplace other than where your washing machine is.

right now i'm using shaklee in a foam dispenser & i LOVE it! it's quite pricey, though, but it is diluted quite a bit in the foamer. check out skin deep's ratings for hand soap...

Are you talking about washing hands or hand washing clothes?

If your talking about washing hands, here's what I do. Actually, I think I got this idea from Ruthla some time ago. I use a natural dishwashing liquid (Trader Joe's or 7th Gen) I fill a foaming soap dispenser with 3/4 water and 1/4 soap. Shake it up. And your good to go. It works very well, does not dry my skin and it's super cheap. Smells good too.

I use to do the same thing w/ Dr. Bronners. It also worked well but I have very hard water and it left a lot of soap scum in and around my sink. It always looked dirty. I'd clean it and a couple hours later it looked dirty. Now I don't have that problem.

I use Doctor Bronners here, and add a few drops of tea tree oil. Works great and is super cheap!

I buy castille soap bars for in the shower and when they get too small I save them. When I have enough I will melt them down in hot water, put in a pump style bottle and use. Free, re-used soap!
