If you want to travel as far as Auburn you can try Dr. Bruce. I've been taking my children there since their very first appointments. His office is really fun and kid friendly. His staff are wonderful with the kids and they get to fill a goody bag on their way out. We love him
It's Dr. Bruce Fieldman and his office is right behind Hollywood Video in Auburn. He just hired a new pediatric dentist who I like even more than Dr. Bruce.

Thanks so much for posting this info!
We have been looking for a ped. dentist and Fallon gave us a "whopping" three choices. None of those had previously been recommended by my friends, so I was just picking one at random. Then I saw this post and Dr. Bruce is one of the options - Thank you!
Wish us luck - I think DS has a cavity.

We have an appt for our dd this morning at Dr Bruce's office. The staff is wonderful and between my 2 girls and my brother (he's 17) we've had a lot of experience with them. He does tend to be expensive (our insurance covers a good part of it) but worth it if you have a child who is fearful. He also is working with another dentist we met who was very nice.

Extra Procedures?
Okay, so I wanted to post about Dr. Bruce. At our first visit we saw Dr. Bhalla, who was great. Our second visit was with Dr. Bruce himself, and again great.
However, I started to get a little worried after seeing 2 whitepages.com reviews which said that Dr. Bruce performs unnecessary procedures. But, seeing that I really don't know the source, I brushed it off. However, then I was told the same thing by one of our Early Intervention specialists, and then my former doctor named him as the one dentist in the area who she would not use under any circumstances - her patients who have gone to him have had extra procedures tacked on to procedures that were not necessary in the first place {she listed having teeth pulled that didn't need to be pulled in the first place followed by spacers being added where the teeth were pulled.}
I am so conflicted: he's told me my son needs to go under anesthesia in the hospital to get 4 cavities fixed, and that he may need to need some of the nerve removed....and the one thing that stuck in my mind was how they went over and over and over how the nickel-chromium crown rather than the white crown was better but don't worry because it doesn't cost any more. I also just received the un-itemized dental cost estimate and it's well over $1000.
I will pay whatever I need to to ensure my son's teeth are cared for well and he feels no pain, but I'm just getting a bad feeling over this. There are only 2 other pediatric dentists in the area that take my insurance {Fallon} - do I go with my gut and get a 2nd opinion or am I overreacting? I don't think he would do well being awake for this procedure as he is a very active 2 year old, and I don't want him to fear the dentist. I just worry based on, mostly, what my former doctor said.
In addition - this is making me feel terrible as I didn't "believe in" fluoride and I night nursed my son for two years. In my opinion, this was a pretty good way to tempt fate.

Go with your gut and get a 2nd opinion. I wouldn't tell dentist #2 that you've already seen one dentist. That way you'll get an unbiased opinion. I've always had great luck with his office but we've never been in for anything but cleanings & x-rays. I'd be a little leary myself after the reviews and opinions you've read and heard. I work in the OR at St. V's where Dr. Bruce does his dental rehab. I always feel so sorry for the little ones coming in to have dental work done. It's very intimidating for them but I can honestly say that we have a great group of people there and we take awesome care of the little babes that do have to come in.
Good luck!!
Good luck!!

Dr. Bruce yelled at my husband and blamed all of our dental woes on breastfeeding. He told me to wean immediately (Jordan was 18 months), and then tried to sell us over $10,000 in dental work.
Now we go to Dr. Tony Saito in West Boylston, and we are thrilled.

I've heard wonderful things about Dr. Tony, but alas, with only 5 pediatric dentists in a 100 mile radius covered by my insurance, he is not included!
Thanks for your review!

I am late to the party, but I third Dr. Tony Saito. He is FABULOUS. This was the 'your kids should have sealant' visit and I simply said no thank you and it was dropped with no issue at all. It was wonderful. LOVE them! My kids are psyched to go which is awesome since their mom is dental phobic
