How often are you bathing your babe?

I was just curious how often everyone is bathing their little ones? I usually bathe Natalie once or twice a week. I think I would bathe her only once a week if her hair didn't get so oily. She has a lot of dark hair and it gets so oily that it looks wet! It's getting a little better the older she gets, but it's still pretty bad. Anyway, let me know!

We haven't done a real bath at home yet, just sponge baths. He had one in the hospital, though.
I would have given him a bath or two, but his bellybutton is looking red and still oozes a little gunk, even though the cord fell off more than a week ago. I'm waiting til he sees the doctor again to make sure that a bath is okay. Probably once I do bathe him, all his hair will fall out, ha ha.

I waited about 12 days to bathe him for the first time, but between the oily hair, crusty/goopy eyes, and spit up under the neck, I've been bathing him in my sink with water only every 2 days.

I haven't bathed her yet (she's 11 days old) but have been meaning too... I will probably bathe her about once a week. IMO, they don't really get dirty until they start to crawl.

i take a bath with Sonny about once a week too! he's got lots of hair that gets oily! I rinse his head off in the sink with just water.

I'm glad to hear that others bathe with their babies!! I have started doing that too. Natalie hates her baby bath, but she loves to get in the tub with me and kick and move around in the water. I bathed all the time with my two year old when he was a baby too!

We waited about 10 days or so for the first bath, and she loved it soooo much! A big surprise, after ds who screamed in the bath for the first couple months.

After a few weeks of bathing only when super-pukey or -poopy, we've started bathing her every night in the tub with ds: it's so cute, and really relaxes both of them before they go to bed together (at the same time, not in the same bed!). I don't use soap, usually, unless she's really dirty.

If it wasn't so relaxing and pleasurable for her, I'd definitely only do it once a week or so.

She's only had 3 baths so far (one in the hospital, one sponge and one real bath at home). I'm giving her one tonight and would've sooner but our water softener has been weird and the water has been rusty and yellow so I was not going to bathe her in it! I'm not really big on regular baths for babies, dries their skin out you know? She doesn't stink and she isn't grimy, so

Not often enough, apparently! We try to keep her clean--she's had two 'big baths' with me and several baby baths, as well as the odd wipedown--but her creases just love to collect fluff. Under the chin, between the fingers, everywhere. DH found a longish piece of cotton thread embedded in her neck-squish the other day and had a serious talk with her about how it wasn't an appropriate place to keep things.

My dd is 3 weeks old and had a bath in the hospital and one at home so every week to 10 days or so.

Twice since he was born a month ago. It's not like he's doing anything to get dirty. I at least wipe off the spitup and pee stains.

She's 5 weeks old and not counting the one in the hospital, she's had 4 baths. She's not sure what to think of them. She doesn't fuss, but dosen't look entirely comfortable either. She needs one tonight though.

I was wearing her in the wrap at the grocery store today. I grabbed a pineapple sample and took a bite, dripping juice all over her head. She had been asleep, but the cold juice woke her up. The look on her face was hysterical, all sleepy surprise. Her hair is all stuck together now.

Up, she was a month old yesterday and has had two baths. She isn't doing anything to get dirty so why bother. We bath with her.
