A positive school thought

Whenever I wonder why we are not 100% ahsing family, I get a notice like this from school. I remember why I've chosen to trust my ds. I've edtied some names and dates.

Friends,

In the next several days, we will be hosting three exciting and unique events here at school.

First, Arts and Poetry Night is ****. For those of you who are new to to our school--or who are planning to come to the event for the first time--the evening puts on display a spectacular array of our children's creative acumen. At a time when art is being cut from school budgets across the nation, it is a true joy to be fortunate enough to celebrate such an innovative and compelling program right here at home.

Second, on Wednesday we will observe Earth Day during our regular All-School Meeting time. Parents are encouraged to join us as we rededicate the school garden and announce grade-level projects aimed at conservation, sustainability, and responsibility.

Finally, on Thursday, we will have the pleasure of welcoming ***, an internationally recognized architect and environmental sustainability consultant. While A will speak to and work with our students and teachers during the school day, he will present some of his famous "green" projects and ideas to the entire extended community that evening, as part of our annual Speaker Series (if you recall, Holocaust survivor **** visited us last year in this capacity). ---

Sometimes a school can work for some children and families. And PS-- My kid is playing original snare drum to some original poetry for Arts & Poetry night.

You've always posted interesting things going on at your DS' school and he is there by choice. It's all good.
Enjoy the arts & poetry night!

We did luck out. Hey, one of his preformance pieces was with a couple of electric guitarists, and they wrote a poem about a homeless man--and did it to Cannon in D. I gotta admit, it blew me away.
