How can you tell it's suedecloth???

The only "fabric store" I have where I love is Walmart and I have read about the suede cloth that they carry here on this board. So, off I went to find some... After absolutely no help from the staff there I managed to find something that said "suedecloth" 100% polyester on the bolt but no brand name. It was marked down to 1.00 a yard so really, if it is the wrong stuff I haven't lost a lot of money. It feels like suede on the top and like a rough silky kind of material on the other side. Anyways, I tried to test it with water and it didn't wick at all. I'm wondering if I got the wrong stuff or if I need to strip it first? I don't want to start making my diapers and have it not work! Thanks!

usually it will say alova seudecloth... however, that being said, it will probably work... you may need to prewash on hot before it will wick properly... sometimes I have heard that the suede, especially from walmart, has some weird stuff on it that needs to be washed out.
