Something great to say about teens

So, this really isn't a question as much as an observation. We have a bunch of teens on both sides of the family right now, and I just want to say how great they are. Smart, funny, interesting, individual and connected to their parents. We feel so lucky that our little kids have such great teens to look up to. I am in awe of the parents who raised them--just want to say it!

I have a dd who's 17 yo, and a dear niece (17) who's like my dd, since her mom died when she was 11 years old. They are great teens too! Helpful, loving, kind-hearted, great sense of humor. My dd has 3 nephews who she's wonderful with and loves to spend time with. All three adore her. My dear niece has a 4 yo brother who she's great with and takes care of more than the mom. These boys are lucky to have the girls to look up to.
I love threads like these where we can brag about our teens.

Though we went through a couple of rough years, I am so proud of the kind, smart, compassionate, goofy, funny woman my teen has become!

I'm finding the teen years to be an absolute delight. Even though we occasionally butt heads, I wouldn't trade these years for anything.

My DD just ROCKS. I love her. She s funny as all get out, smart, kind and thoughtful. And I mean, really really funny. I can barely eat anything around her for fear of what will come out my nose

Aren't they? They are. Respected, loved, cared-for teens are so 'out there' with their emotions, so sweet, so tender.

I adore my teens. My odest will be 20 this summer, so almost done with the teen years, and he is such a smart, funny, generous, loving man. I love seeing him interact with his girlfriend now, and see how sweet and caring he is.
My dd just turned 13, and is a lot of fun. She's got a very interesting personality, and unique sense of style, and is so much fun to be around. I am pleased to have her as a friend now, as well as daughter and I so enjoy having time with her.

I love infants. I mean, really, LOVE infants, and I was so worried about my kids getting older but I enjoy them so much now that they have their own personalities and opinions and more independent lives. It's been such a pleasant surprise! Not that everything has been perfect and we never have disagreements, but that the long term base of mutual respect and love we have to build on continues to allow us to be close to always see each other as people.

I love how teens are finding their sense of humor. During the elementary school years (or younger) there is a lot that we can't discuss with our kids, or take them along to. But teens can now have discussions, think politically, discuss books with real plots and situations. You can watch more mature movies with them.
