First off a question, how many Very Baby AIO Pattern Medium size cut outs do you reckon i can get out of 1/2 meter of PUL & Microfleece?

well, seeing as its DH 1str of 3 days off, its my birthday adn im getting no gifts as we have no spare cash till later in month i am gonna have a sewing day. i have some diaper supplies and i jstu wanted to see what other mamas thought of these ideas

A Pocket diaper make with minkie(inner and outer)and PUL
A Pocket diaper made with Minkie(outter), Microfleece(inner) and PUL
A Pocket diaper made with Killington flannel (inner)and minkie(outer)

i also have some sweat shirt fabric but i can not for the life of me rember what part of the diaper it can be used for? help!

any more ideas as to what i can make with minkie, microfleece, i also have cotton jersey in white and some in pink, some with pink stars on it and a small amount of polar fleece. i will be using birdseye for stuffers and i wil lalso be halfing and stitching up some boosters from Terry Squares i have.

i boguht a Pocket from www.weenotions.co.uk and i LOVE it
(lemon yello minkie, baby pink microfleece with "princess in training" embroydered on the rump, its so so cute.

only thing is it takes me almost all day to make ONE diper i made a fitted with minkie and flannel and hidden soaker and it too all day so im gonna stick to pockets (i am RUBBISH as closing the open end) and try to rope DH in to help me cut.

thanks for reading this i cant seem to keep my posts to the point lol

Minkee sounds GREAT (if only I could get my hands on it!) and your pocket diapes look good to me.

For your sweatshirt material, you could make lay-in, stuffable or sewn-in soakers (if it's ugly, it won't be seen anyhow!).

For your minkee and microfleece, I'd keep making pockets (or simple fitted diapes) with soakers...you can also use your jersey with patterns such as the free Darling Diaper pattern, which seems to work well for stretchy fabric. For your polar fleece, how about making a Kwik Sew pull-on cover?

HTH!

If you are happy with the way your diapers are turning out/working, then I highly recommend sewing them assembly line style. Do each step on all of the diapers before moving on to the next step. This is much faster than sewing one complete diaper at a time. Sewing this way I can make four diapers in just over an hour.

thanks for the replys. i think i may asembly line the next set of diapers as ONE dipers has taken me 4 hours to do and that includes me making a mistake and having to start again adn picking it out (Note To Self Buy a NEw Seam Ripper)
i have not got an almsot complete Minkie outer, Microfleece inner, PUl hidden, Pocket Diaper. it jsut needs touchtape tabs on it. i did whole thing with DD2 on my back(in ergo) and im a bit sore now so taking a break. when i get back to it after tea i will pin and sew legs on each of the 2 PUL pockets adn the one fitted i have bits cut for.
once i have them done i am gonna use the odds and ends of minkie and microfleece to make some soft shoes for DD to wear in the Ergo adn may be see if i can fashion a water proof hood i can stick in my bag when out so that when it rains i can stick it on DD and she wont get wet adn it will look cool.
the weather in UK changes so fast it can be clouds at 8am burning sun at 12 and raining cats and dogs at 3.

thanks

LOL I've sewn with a child on my back too Last week I put my sewing machine on a counter top and was able to stand while sewing diapers.
