Rhubarbarin: I just have to say that I LOVE your username.

rhubarbarin, my cycles were similar to that pre-baby (30-33 days, with the very occasional 40 day), and I always hated the inner debate on whether to buy a test, and then if I broke down and took one, I had to debate whether or not to believe the results... so frustrating! Those do sound like early symptoms though!

As for me, at this point I'm *almost* sure that I am pg. I took a test two days ago- BFN. I was seriously shocked, was totally expecting BFP, because I have all the early symptoms that I had with both my kids. The super prominent breast and arm veins, the hunger, the smell issues... I have tried to convince myself that I'm just overthinking things, but a few hours ago, DH confirmed that no, I'm not going crazy- that bright blue varicose-looking vein on my breast is indeed a totally new development, as is the increase in breast size. I've even been nauseous the last two evenings.

So I guess I was maybe testing too early (hard to know since my cycles aren't back yet), plus using a crappy test. I may go buy another test tomorrow (if all the Dollar Stores in the area will stop being sold out - I refuse to pay top $ for another crappy test when the $1 ones are better!)

Hmm, I might have to check out these dollar store tests.. I am not spending another $17 on two tests!

Hmm... I've NEVER gotten a BFP on a cheapie test. Even when the good ones pop up BFP right away.

I get 2 tests (Answer) for $7 at Walmart. Still more than Dollar Store, true, but more accurate, I think. Answer is "technically" a cheapie, but if you read who manufactures it, they're made by the same people who do First Response. I wouldn't pay $17 for two tests either!!!

Hmm, I might have to have DH pick up the 2 for $7 Answer tests tomorrow, since he will be at Walmart anyway! Thanks for the recommendation! At this point I just want to know for sure one way or another. So yeah, accuracy plus inexpensive would be a good thing.

I did get my BFP for DS w. a Dollar Store test, BUT... I was already a few days late when I tested. So yeah, it might not have picked it up earlier.

OK, retested today and I'm definitely not. And now that I know for sure, I'm pretty darn relieved. More kids would be great, but 15 month spacing, not so much. Good luck everyone!

I'm so glad this thread exists! It's hard to know where you fit exactly in this kind of situation.

I have a bf'ing 9 1/2 mo. old boy, no AF, and haven't been temping, but dtd last weekend with ewcm and a high, soft cervix. I didn't pay attention to my fertility signs in the year or so post-partum with my first son, so I have no idea what this means with my particular body. But I was definitely NOT trying for 18-month spacing between children!!!

Here's hoping we all get what we need, want, or both this month!!

I found where I belong

ha! I have been bit by the baby bug for a while now, and DP is not on board yet because of a very, very stressful situation we have been going through involving our other child.

Just two nights ago, right during ovulation, he forgot to pull and pray and the man instict to dump a load kicked in ....

And then after he said "I just knocked you up!"

Funny thing is, this is how I became pregnant before. lol. So who knows.... I am going to test around the beginning of December I guess.... until then, I will ride the wave. All though, I woke up today with a very intense headache.... I never get headaches, except when I am pregnant.

Hmmmmm!

DF came home from Iraq last week. My chart is all wonky. I thought I Oed around Halloween. Now Im not sure. I couldnt temp while I was on my trip (forgot my thermometer at home for one, had horrible sleeping habits for two, was traveling and never in the same conditions I am in at home for three) Im hoping Im not preggers, I would be due just after our wedding, I want a honeymoon baby... not to be 36+ weeks and walking down the aisle

So, if AF shows by Sunday, Im good. If not, I have to hope we didnt succeed in doing the one thing we want more than anything (just not yet)

ok knowledgable mamas, please tell me what you think.

I had my period once back in May, but not again. DS2 is just about completly weaned, althought he nurses occasionally, like maybe once a day. I POAS two weeks ago, Negative. I had a blood test done at the lab the next day, negative. I POAS again three days ago, nothing. I started spotting yesterday morning, but it was more like that end-of-my-period brownish stuff (sorry TMI) I POAS again last night, negative. So thats THREE POAS and one blood test, ALL negative. But still no period. My husband and I are pretty careful. although we usually don't put on a condom until halfway through the deed. Once about a month ago, we didnt put one on in time, but he withdrew.

The nurse at my OB says I should go for ANOTHER blood test. What do you guys think? I HATE needles, but I just keep getting this nagging feeling that I am pregnant! (which, BTW, I would embrace, but we were hoping to wait a couple years)

I don't know, it doesn't sound like you're pregnant, just maybe not having regular cycles due to the nursing. This has happened to me. I had one period when DD was about 9 months old and nursing, not like a regular one but a period just the same. I didn't get another until she was 18 months old but I was not pregnant. I don't usually see AF until my nursling is about 18 months old anyway, so that's just me though.

If you got 3 BFNs on sticks and a blood test, I'd say it's a definite negative. The blood test, if anything, would have showed it. The doctors are just absolute that periods need to be on a schedule and if you get one, you should continue getting them no matter what. Everything has to be JUST SO with docs, and I understand that's just how they're taught and what they usually see, but everyone is different.

When I got pg with my first, I didn't know enough to lie to docs about when my last AF was. I didn't think it mattered that my periods were every 3 months, if then. (For me, it really WAS no biggie, it's just me.) But I told then when the last AF was and they gave me a due date of early December. I KNEW that wasn't right... I could not be that far along! They swore up and down (military docs) and I had to demand an ultrasound which proved them wrong (she was born in mid-February). They never changed my chart though, so when I went into labor, the admitting nurse looked at the papers and said, "Hmmm... a bit overdue, are we?"

I suppose I should mention that before I started having babies, I had been on the pill for 13 years. When I went off of it, I stopped having my period. It took provera and chlomid to get pregnant after TTC for a year. The first time I actually got my period without any chemical assistance since I was 13 was four months after my first son was born. Then again 6 months after my second son was born. So maybe a period every 3 months is normal for me too?

Well ladies.... I tested today and I am pregnant!!!!!
Don't have time to post much, but this is where I will be for the next 10 days or so. Long story short I o'd about 4 or 5 days early, the day after DTD. I am nervous! Be back tomorrow when I have more time...

MamaKitten, congrats!!! Good luck with everything!

Congratulations, MommaKitten!!! Have fun on your next baby-growing journey!

MommaKitten: Congrats!

I am feeling crampy today, so either I missjudged & I am ovulating now, or this is the start of implantation. I was crampy within days with both of my other pregnancies too. I guess I will just have to wait and see. I will wait to test until next Thursday, at 12 DPO.

I have decided not to say anything to DH until I know for sure since I don't want to stress him out unless there is a real reason. I would be estatic about this except we are in a serious finanical situation, have been for a while & will be for atleast another year or 2. DH has been out of a job for almost 4 months. He is waiting for a test date to get his real estate license so he has a job coming eventually, but it isn't steady pay & can take a while to get yourself established. I know that he feels like he is a bad provider & I don't want to add to that. He is an amazing man & a wonderful father. He is just a victim of the current economy.

Back again I was here back in September and ended up being pg. I miscarried that pg a few weeks ago. Our mw advised that we avoid until my next AF. We had every intention of waiting, especially since the last pg was extremely unplanned and poorly timed.

Despite our intentions, we DTD 5 days before ovulation (same as last pg). I am now 5 DPO and starting to feel symptoms: nausea, cramping, and heartburn. I made an appt with my GP next Thursday (13 DPO) and, if AF doesn't show up first, I'm going to get betas taken. I have to get blood drawn because I took a HPT at 2 DPO that was positive from the HCG leftover from the m/c.

If I'm pg, I'll be due right around our wedding anniversary. Unfortunately, that's also around the time one of our closest friends is getting married 17 hours away. My DH is supposed to be a groomsman and I will feel terrible if we can't be there.

I definitely need to join. My story is that I have two kids..one is almost four and the other is two. I am okay with a third eventually, but certainly not right now. Dh is a no go on a third ever. We are using protection..the diaphram and not having very much sex anyways. But according to my calculations of cycle, ovulation and when we dtd, there is a chance.
I have taken 3 dollar store tests..all negative and two first resposes (one this morning) and they are negative. According to calculations I am 5 days late.
Here are my symptoms: Two weeks ago I started complaining that my uterus was sore. I'm exhuasted to the point of falling asleep during the day for a short nap, while kids watch a tv program. This is very unusual, but has been necessary every day for a week now. I'm hyper emotional..I cried during Biggest Loser last night. I do not cry during tv shows. I'm also able to fly off the handle quickly. I have had twinges on my left side that feel just like ligaments stretching. This symptom freaks me out the most. It's very noticeable. I'm so hungry all the time and am definitely having cravings. I am eating cheese like it's going out of style. Mostly in the form of nachos which I did with my last pregnancy. I also am craving spicy and realized I have eaten a whole jar of jalepenos (on nachos) in a week! Not normal..I've had that jar for awhile until now! I have gained 4-5 lbs in a week and I'm super bloated (prob. water and from all those nachos!) One last thing, I feel like i've been fighting a cold for two weeks and can't figure out why it just won't kick in. My kids have been sick and seems like my body would just give in and get it. And just generally I don't feel like myself, I just feel strange.

Here's the big BUT... I just ended breastfeeding my two year old last month. This is the most likely reason my hormones are off and crazy and I'm having some weird extended PMS that feels like pregnancy. I mean, what are the chances I keep popping negative on tests when according to calculations I am 5 w 5 days? With my other two children I popped right away.

Edited to add that since I wrote this, this morning, I fainted. I didn't pass out on the floor, but I bent over to pick something up and on the way back standing up, I got dizzy and everything went hazy and blackish.
Also, I def. feel something that feels exactly like ligament pulling. If it's not, then I am seriously going crazy.....(I'm sure that's a possibility)

I just need some support. I need to know I'm not crazy and that it is unlikely I am pregnant. If I am, I am, but I really really hate feeling like i am when I'm not!
Thanks for letting me join and vent and feel crazy!
