Wow! I've been invited to become a LLL Leader!

Hi ladies,
I just got off the phone with our LLL Leader who has asked me to become a leader! This is seriously exciting. I am so shappy that I might be able to help mamas and their babies! I have to go throught training and everything. But our leader was really nice and said that I always know thew right things to say at meetings.

I am very seriously considering this. Is anyone else out there a LLL leader? Do you like it?
Can anyone think of any CONS that might go with this desicion?

Yay! I remember how excited I was when my friend and LLL Leader invited me to become a Leader.

I've been a Leader for just about a year now and I love it. It's nice to know that I'm doing something to help educate people about breastfeeding, and it's very satisfying to hear back from mom's who I've helped out. I've also really come to enjoy the friends I've made among other Leaders in the area.

The biggest drawback for me is the time it takes. I plan and lead one meeting a month, send out a newsletter to our group, and take calls from the central phone line 2-3 days a month. The hardest duty of those, I find, is the phone days. There are some days when I've had 6 calls, which can be quite time-consuming on top of the daily life of homeschoolers! Today, on the other hand, I didn't receive a single call.

I firmly believe that the benefits of leadership far outweigh the harships and I hope to be a Leader for many years to come!

Congrats! That's great news! I just earned my accredidation last week, so it's still really new to me, but I have to say so far I love it. I've been actively involved with my group for about 1.5 years now and become a Leader just helped to solidify my appreciation for LLL, especially my local group.

Enjoy the application process, it's really a wonderful learning experience. I gained so much knowledge about myself that I didn't expect. I went in thinking it would be all about nursing and dealing with moms and running meetings, which of course it is to a large extent, but there are some preliminary questions to the whole process that really got me thinking and I enjoyed exploring that. Anyway, best of luck to you and congrats again!!! I say go for it!
