Books on Evolution and Electricity

Hello! I'm looking for some books for my DD (4.5yo). She wants to have some books about evolution and about the process of the discovery and development of electricity (not the science behind it, meaning current and batteries but really about how it occurred to someone to use electricity).

I have old textbooks on evolution but I'm hoping someone here can recommend something with more drawings and/or simpler text. LOL my textbooks are a bit longwinded.

I've found biographies of Benjamin Franklin but they're as dry as anything. I'm looking for something that would interest a 5-10 yo. Something not too technical - I guess more about general concepts rather than specifics.

Any ideas please?

Thank you. I had looked at Amazon, but wasn't sure if the top search results were any good.

For evolution I would recommend most of the ones on granolapunk's list plus The story of Life by Virginia Burton. There is also Darwin and Evolution for Kids : His Life and Ideas with 21 Activities which might be one to explore with your child.

For electricity, we've liked these ones
How Ben Franklin Stole the Lightning
Faraday: Pioneer of Electricity (The Explosion Zone) by Brian Williams
Wired by Anastasia Suen
Switch On, Switch Off (Let's-Read-and-Find-Out Science 2) by Melvin Berger
