but dont know where to start. How big should I make them. what type of material can i use(cant afford real silk) was thinking about making some from some of the dollar or 2dollar stuff at walmart(I know alot of people dont like walmart but I am thinking about making it from stuff like that material) I also thought about using fau denim for the boys to use and camo stuff to make tents what is some other ideas? any would be appreciated.

21" squares and 35" squares are my most popular sizes. Try to find a fabric that is light and airy

I use 35" square Habotai silk scarves from Dharma Trading. They're inexpensive and nice, and already hemmed. Dharma has lots of other sizes and heavier weight, too. For tents, I'd use one of their huge veils, and hand dye it. You can use kool aid, Easter egg dye, or natural dyes. Check the huuuge thread on toys and dolls for tons of info about dyeing.
