What to read?

What did you read?

My DH made a comment a few days ago concerning pregnancy. It got me thinking rather frantically.

I haven't completely recovered from an awful birth 14 months ago, so I haven't started preparing for TTC or PG or Birth of a 2nd child. I guess that I should do that now before DH states that we NEED to start TTC - not that he dictates that stuff, but I'll be ready when he's serious.

So...what did you read? I want a homebirth, but he's VERY VERY skeptical b/c I had something wrong (no one would give it a name...was it Pre-E, was it toxemia, PIH, something made up b/c my MWs were quitting their practice and didn't want me to birth in the center b/c they were freaks?...). There were blood pressure problems and due to an uninformed drug usage and laying on my side for 30 hours, I stopped dilating at 6cm. Another story there!

I need books and websites about homebirthing that my DH can read and I can read, and I want to be able to reference stuff when he tries to talk me out of homebirthing.

Thanks in Advance!!!

Birth Your Way by Sheila Kitzinger is nice and short. Lots of pictures.

I like Peggy's new book, Having A Baby, Naturally. I really like this book - it's such a wonderful alternative to WTEWYE.

I like Ina May's new book alright, just not as much. I like her stand on certain issues like VBAC, prenatal testing, etc.

Oh, and The Thinking Woman's Guide to a Better Birth by Henci Goer is great.

- Hey, our thread on Celebrity Homebirthers could be enough to push him right into homebirth! C'mon! It's TRENDY! All the stars are doing it!
