Elleystar needs your positive thoughts!

Hey Guys! Elley's really having a hard time! Her water broke yesterday morning at 6am and she still hasn't had regular productive contractions set in... her midwife has set 12pm today as the deadline for a hospital transfer if things haven't picked up. I don't understand WHY the MW is being so conservative or what the real risks are! She's already had one dose of ABX and as of last night was at 3cm 70% effaced. The break seems to be high, she's got plenty of fluid still around the baby, and heart tones are strong and regular... what's the big deal?

Honestly-what IS the deal, I can't think of any real risks...other than the fact that she has had one internal-but the abx ought to counter act that... We KNOW what will happen as soon as a transfer occurs-they'll have her hooked up to pitocin so fast her head will spin.

So anyway, send her powerful contraction vibes-she really needs them!

Has she tried castor oil? My midwife's water broke with her fifth child and has no contractions for two days so she induced with castor oil. 2 ounces and then another 2 ounces a few hours later.

Oh, dear... that is a really odd deadline... Just the 3 cm and effacement sounds promising to me! UGH, MW!!! I'm sending some good energy her way in hopes that contractions pick up naturally. IF she does end up in the hospital, make sure they only give her the minimum dosage of pit and don't continue to increase it as contractions pick up....

oh elleystar. i'm so sorry! Are you in pain tho? I had a 30 hour labor of INTENSE labor and when they transferred me they did an uncess. c-s. Sounds like she's NOT in hard labor yet so hopefully she can just stand her ground and get rest and let the labor happen. I bet she's tired tho.

Thoughts to her...will pray.

Hey guys! I've been chafing all day, thinking evil thoughts towards this damn midwife... I'm back with more news.. They managed to keep putting off the transfer a few more hours... and a few more... and I got a call at about 7 tonight that Elley had made it to 7cm!!! HOORAY! I almost started bawling right there! There's no more threat of transfer now. Send her open wide thoughts!

Oh Ellystar I hope that your progressing now. I also hope that baby is here by now and you can tell that mw where to stick it. You poor thing.
