Anyone "due" in December but will birth in Jan?

Hi ladies I'm a long cooker. It runs in my genes to cook babies long and in fact I was a 44 weeker. My last son was about 43 and 1/2 weeks along before I gave into pressures and a c-section. I'm so much more at peace with gestation time this time around and I'm sure I will go over 42 weeks again. Since this baby's EDD is mid December, I'm putting my money on a January baby. Anyone else?

I'm due so late in Dec that I can't imagine it won't end up being January...

I think we are on another board together I think the odds are about 60% that I will birth in January. "due" December 25, but my first was induced at 41w6d. My second was only 40w2d, but that was after my water had been broken for a week and we were starting to get pretty serious about getting her out. Who knows how long she would have cooked if my water hadn't broken.

My first was due Dec. 29th, but wasn't actually born until Jan. 8th. My second, however, was born on his due date. We'll see how this one turns out! Since my EDD is 12/15 or something I doubt I woud go all the way into January... Although I suppose it's possible.

I suspect I'll go in to January, though I would rather not! EDD is Dec 22, with a long family history of "late" babies. Plus, with this being #1...

Well I don't believe the online calculators because they say I am 4 weeks already and due on Dec 29th and I am 99% sure I didn't O till the 5th so my guess is that the sites are 2 weeks early. Besides all of that this is my first so I'm probably going to be more like mid January.

That's because pregnancy is calculated in a crazy way. The first day of a pregnancy is considered to be the first day of your last period. I still think it's ridiculous, actually. However, if you ovulated on the 5th (of April?), we will assume conception occured then, so the easiest way to figure it out is to subtract 7 days (March 29th), and then subtract three months (December 29th). So, your online calculator is exactly right. Puts you at about 4 weeks and 2 days, if you have the "typical" 28 day cycle. I have decided that it's not worth questioning, just accept it. Besides, it sounds better to say you're 4+ weeks pregnant than it does to say you're 2+weeks pregnant, right?

Yeah, I like the way that sounds but I guess I feel like it's a lie since implantation was only about 2 weeks ago. That is some weird math there.

So does that mean i am 2 weeks closer to being "out of the woods" because I like that idea!
